Former Rgm agents Tracey Silvester and Theresa Huska have launched Independent Management Company with the backing of music and theatre impresario Paul Dainty.
The move marks the biggest shake-up in the talent agency business since Natasha Harrison and Lee-Anne Higgins departed Shanahan Management three years ago and formed United Management with Trish McAskill and Catherine Handley.
More than a dozen Rgm clients have crossed to Independent Management. They include Olivia DeJonge, Sigrid Thornton, Dustin Clare, Rick Donald, Sharni Vinson and Chai Romruen.
Us-born, Perth-raised Devon Terrell, who left Rgm earlier this year, has landed the lead in Codes of Conduct, HBO.s drama pilot from Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave). Terrell, who graduated from Nida last year, is playing a young black man who enters New York high society.

Actress Toni Collette, Emmy winner for United States of Tara, has signed with CAA. In features, Collette recently starred in The Way Way Back and Enough Said and next will be seen in Lucky Them, which is executive produced by Joanne Woodward and the late Paul Newman, premiered at Toronto and screened at Tribeca. Collette, who was with Wme, can be seen on Broadway in Will Eno’s The Realistic Joneses, for which she earned a Drama Desk Special Award. Collete also recently signed with Lee-Anne Higgins of United Management in Australia, and continues to be repped by Jen Turner of Viking Entertainment, Dean Michaels of The Asteri Group, and attorney Debbie Klein.

Two agents from elite talent agency Shanahan Management have parted ways with the company and opened their own agency, taking several high profile clients along with them. Lee-Anne Higgins and Natasha Harrison left Shanahan last week and have opened United Management with former Rgm and Alchemy Artists agent, Trish McAskill. At the time of writing, 15 former Shanahan clients were listed on casting website Showcast as belonging to United Management. Actors that have migrated to the new agency include Asher Keddie (Offspring, Paper Giants), Maeve Dermody (Griff the Invisible), Pia Miranda, (Surviving Georgia, Looking for Alibrandi), Anthony Hayes (The Slap, Killing Time), Rodger Corser (Rush, The Cup) and Dan Wyllie (Burning Man, The Hunter).
