The Hollywood Reporter has written up an news saying Tobey Maguire will "literally" become a vehicle in The Limit for Columbia Pictures. The first sentence of the report reads, "Tobey Maguire will produce 'The Limit' for Columbia as a starring vehicle -- literally." I have no idea how they will do this since it isn't an animated film and I only hope Maguire signs all the necessary paperwork before his hands turn into Goodyear Radials. The film is based on Michael Cannell's upcoming book, "Limit" and tells the story of real-life friends and rivals Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Trips, two Grand Prix drivers on the Ferrari team, who are pitted against each other during the 1961 Drivers Championship. The article then contradicts itself by saying Maguire will play Hill, which leads me to believe the authors of the post, Borys Kit and Steven Zeitchik, are confused or don't actually know what the word "literally" means.

Tobey Maguire is eager to get in the driving seat of his forthcoming film - he's signed up to play a racing car driver on the big screen.
The Spider-Man star will portray American Phil Hill who won the 1961 World Drivers Championship, after a battle with fellow Ferrari driver Wolfgang von Trips - who was tragically killed after an accident on the track.
Maguire will also produce the biopic, named The Limit, which is based on a forthcoming novel of the same name by Michael Cannell.

Tobey Maguire will produce and star in The Limit, a new racing flick based on a new book by Michael Cannell. Maguire would presumably play Phil Hill, a Grand Prix driver competing with his friend Wolfgang von Trips for the 1961 Drivers Championship.
The book will be released in the fall, but Maguire jumped on the project, anyway, and it's going to be set up at Sony and adapted by Anthony Peckham, who has quietly been one of the busiest writers in Hollywood lately. The Hollywood Reporter says he's been polishing Sherlock Holmes as well as writing or contributing to the screenplays for Eastwood's The Human Factor, the Hughes Brothers' The Book of Eli, and The Tourist, which will star George Clooney.
There's no word on a director, as this is possibly not a front burner project for Maguire the movie star. It's likely that he'll work on Spider-Man 4 first,...

Maguire owns a production company called Maguire Entertainment, that has projects like Tokyo Suckerpunch and Robotech in the works, but hasn't actually made a film yet.
