Jannings died there in 1950 and Gussy was buried beside him after her death in 1966 in Salzburg.
In 1923 she got married a second time, this time with the actor Emil Jannings. She went to the USA with him in 1926 where Emil Jannings launched a brief but impressive American film career. They both returned to Germany in 1929.
After the war Emil Jannings - the husband of Gussy Holl - was forced to retire and they lived at their country home in Strobl am Wolfgangsee in Austria.

After the movie "Sehnsucht" (1921)she dedicated to the stage again and famous writers like Carl Zuckmayer and Kurt Tucholsky belonged to her admirers.
In 1923 she became the fourth wife of the famous actor Emil Jannings.
Her main focus remained to the stage where she was very successful as a cabaret singer.
