- Maria Holst was born on April 2, 1917 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. She was an actress, known for Der gebieterische Ruf (1944), The Trapp Family (1956) and Märchen vom Glück (1949). She was married to Dr. Rudolf Röttger and Eugen von Ledebur. She died on October 8, 1980 in Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria.

- Austrian leading lady of stage and screen, briefly a star at Ufa following her success in Operette (1940). Popular in 'Heimat' films and musical comedies of the 1950's. Trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and at the Comedie Francaise in Paris. Member of the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater, 1938-44.
