James Van Der Beek and Kerr Smith are looking back at filming Dawson’s Creek and recalled some death-defying experiences they had on jet skis at the time.
This week, the two actors told People magazine at 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, that things would sometimes get a bit wild behind the scenes of the hit teen drama when they were filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.
“A couple of the guys on the crew had boats and you know we had the guest stars come in and the writers come in every episode and we would take them out on the water on the weekends,” Smith, who played Jack McPhee, recalled. “We’d stop and eat crab in the morning yet. And we’d fill up the boats with whatever we needed. We would barbecue out on the island. We all had jet skis.”

There’s something about Eerie, Indiana that brings out even more early ’90s nostalgia than a pair of Mc Hammer pants or A.C. Slater slamming you into a locker. Right up there with Are You Afraid of the Dark? as some of the all-time best gateway TV horror for kids, Eerie always felt like a must watch if you could catch it on Disney or eventually Saturday mornings on Fox Kids Network. The show idea was simple and easy to relate to when you were a kid because every adult in suburbia seemed weird as fuck at the time. Hell, they still do.
In the show, Marshall Teller (Omri Katz) and his friend Simon (Justin Shenkarow) investigate the weird and possibly sinister happenings of their neighborhood and as usual… the adults never believe them.

How did Katie Holmes pass the time at home during the pandemic? By rewatching "Dawson's Creek" with daughter Suri Cruise, apparently. During a recent interview with Variety, Holmes shared rare insight into her relationship with 16-year-old Suri, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise. "She has seen 'Dawson's Creek,'" the actor confirmed to the outlet. "I think it's probably weird since she's a teenager. I'm not like, 'You need to watch mommy's work.' But during the pandemic, we had a good laugh about it." We have so many follow-up questions to this revelation: How long did it take them to binge all six seasons? Is Suri Team Pacey or Team Dawson?
Holmes added, "It's wild to have a daughter who's almost the same age as I was when I began all this." The star was 18 years old when she first graced our screens as Joey Potter and...

It’s been 25 years “Dawson’s Creek” premiered. In honour of the huge milestone, Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek, took to Instagram to reflect on the show that made him a star.
“25 years ago today… my life changed. Not gradually, not day-by-day… instantly,” Van Der Beek wrote alongside a throwback pic of himself. “It was the culmination of 5 years of auditioning, hundreds of hours on stage, thousands of hours traveling, preparing, dreaming, hoping, hearing ‘no,’ and making up reasons to keep going. But the shift was overnight.”

The 1981 Mel Brooks film History of the World, Part I was never meant to have a sequel, but Deadline has confirmed Brooks’ high jinks across history will continue as part of an eight-episode variety series at Hulu. The writers room for History of the World, Part II will begin this month, and production will commence in spring 2022.
“I can’t wait to once more tell the real truth about all the phony baloney stories the world has been conned into believing are History!” Brooks, who will write and executive produce, said in a statement.
The big-screen original parodies various moments in history from the Roman Empire and Stone Age to the Old Testament and the French Revolution, among other periods. It starred Brooks, Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, Gregory Hines, Cloris Leachman, Mary-Margaret Humes and Sid Ceasar.

No offense to Mary-Margaret Hume, but an idea to bring back Dawson’s Creek as a revival without referencing social media as much sounds like a difficult thing to do since like it or not, social media has become a huge part of American culture, and getting away from it usually involves going off the grid in a way that the show couldn’t really withstand unless they somehow went for Amish lean. It’s true that shows can make use of social media and have it be less of a factor, but these days it’s bound to be a little more difficult

Fire City: Interpreter of Signs is an upcoming demon fantasy thriller set against the noir backdrop of a shadowy atmospheric world, where demons live among humans who are blind to what they really are.
The story follows Atum Vine, a 700-year-old demon with an attitude. To the humans who live unwittingly alongside him in a derelict tenement building, Vine is just the drug dealer at the end of the hall. But to the demons also living on the floor, Vine is a procurer of human misery, which they need to survive.
After Vine’s flow of addicts shuts off unexpectedly and apparently for no reason, Vine consults Cornelia, an interpreter of signs. She is a fortune teller in the demon world and an enigma even Vine can’t quite figure out.
We got a chance to catch up with Danielle Chuchran, the young actress who plays Cornelia, during our recent set visit for the film.

It’s not every day you get to interview an Academy Award winner while wearing a demon hat. Well… actually it is, for me. I love my job!
Dread Central sent me to the set of Fire City: Interpreter of Signs to chat with cast and crew. It’s the directorial debut of monster master Tom Woodruff, Jr., and he’s got his own junior, David Woodruff, following in his F/X footsteps.
Along for the ride into the depths of hell is makeup/effects artist Dave Elsey (The Wolfman, 2010 Academy Award - Best Achievement in Makeup).
Dread Central: So how did each of you hear about Fire City initially?
David Woodruff: Well, when they started the project, they went over to my dad's studio Adi to do the creature for the first of what was then, three years ago I believe, supposed to be a web series. And...

Yesterday we filled "Teen Wolf" fans in on a new character for Season 2: Isaac (Daniel Sharman), a withdrawn teenage lacrosse player who is having some trouble at home.
Now, Zap2it can exclusively introduce you to the "trouble."
John Wesley Shipp will be playing Isaac's not-so-nice dad -- and the owner of Beacon Hills Cemetery. He sees a whole new side of his son after Derek brings Isaac into the wolf pack, and a few "mysterious incidents" plague him in particular. Shipp is headed to Atlanta to begin shooting the intense role next week. MTV confirms that we can expect to see him in two episodes.
Of course, we know Shipp best from his role as Mitch, Dawson's ill-fated father, on "Dawson's Creek," but he's also got a following for his superhero role as "The Flash," in the early '90s.
"Expanding my pantheon of Dads with Wildly various parenting techniques.
