When it comes to guest appearances on the new "Frasier" revival, all the talk has been about returning stars from the original series. The 10–episode reboot show has so far seen the return of Frasier's ex-wife, former "Cheers" co-star, and frequent "Frasier" guest star Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth). Soon we'll also see the return of Peri Gilpin, who played the doctor's radio show producer, Roz, in the original series. Alas, we won't be treated to a guest appearance by David Hyde Pierce's Niles after the actor turned down the opportunity to return for the new show.
I would say it's all been exciting stuff, but really it's been vaguely amusing stuff that feels at once comfortable and uncanny — like we're watching an alternate reality version of "Frasier" written by super-fans that's not as good as the original. Lilith's return certainly provided a shot of nostalgia but also just reminded us...

We've been waiting for some big guest appearances on the new "Frasier" revival for some time. So far we've had June Diane Raphael of "Grace and Frankie" fame show up in an episode that seemed to suggest the reboot had forgotten all about a classic "Frasier" installment. But what we really want to see are some guest appearances from the "Frasier" of old.
The dream scenario would, of course, be David Hyde Pierce's Niles returning, but after the actor turned down an offer to come back for the revival show, that's very unlikely to happen. In the meantime, we've been gifted an appearance by Bebe Neuwirth, who plays Frasier's ex-wife and on-again-off-again romantic interest Lilith Sternin. Neuwirth shows up in episode seven of the revival portraying Lilith's classic "ice queen" persona that fans of the original series and "Cheers" — where she and Dr. Crane originated — will remember.

The "Frasier" revival series might take place in an entirely different city than its predecessor and feature none of the original cast, but it hasn't forgotten its roots. In the very first episode of the new show, which recently launched on Paramount+, Frasier can be seen poking fun at "Cheers" — the show on which his character first debuted all the way back in 1984. That same episode also pays heartwarming tribute to John Mahoney, who played Frasier's father Martin Crane in the original sitcom that ran from 1993 to 2004. We'll also be seeing Roz actress Peri Gilpin return to the show at some point in the near future.
And that's not the end of the references to Frasier's past. In fact, the revival does an admirable job of linking itself to the previous incarnation despite only Kelsey Grammer returning from the original show. When Frasier first arrives in Boston, he's flanked by his nephew,...

"Frasier" is heading back to TV, and for fans of beloved '90s sitcoms, this is either great or potentially terrible news. The original series epitomized much of what made '90s sitcoms great. Following the exploits of its intelligent, slightly pompous, but lovable titular character, the show felt as comfortable and heartfelt as "Friends" or "Seinfeld" from episode to episode. This time around the revival will see Dr. Crane return in the age of streaming, only on Paramount+.
For the new series, Grammer is stepping into the Executive Producer role alongside starring in what's expected to be 10 episodes scribed by Chris Harris of "How I Met Your Mother" and Joe Cristalli of "Life In Pieces." Not too much else is known about the series so far, but Grammer previously revealed to Fox News that it wouldn't be a reboot but "a new show centered around the character in a...

John Travolta, wife Kelly Preston, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Harrison Ford were among stars who attended a glittering benefit party at the home of hip producer Lawrence Bender. The stars paid $1,000 to party at Bender's posh Beverly Hills abode last month, with all proceeds going to a scholarship fund for the families of firefighters affected by the terrorist attacks. The evening's hosts included Vin Diesel, Sylvester Stallone, and Ellen Degeneres. Minnie Driver, Jeff Goldblum and David Hyde Pierce were also in attendance. An hour into the bash, Diesel led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance under an enormous American flag hanging at the back of Bender's pad. The evening was capped up by emotional renditions of God Bless America, America The Beautiful and The Star-spangled Banner by singer Sheryl Crow, leaving barely a dry eye in the house.
