Alfred Jerger was born on June 9, 1889 in Brünn, Austria-Hungary [now Brno, Czech Republic]. He was an actor, known for Immortal Melodies (1936). He died on November 18, 1976 in Vienna, Austria.
Austrian bass-baritone. In 1 July 1933 performed Mandryka in the world
premiere of Richard Strauss' "Arabella".
In 1969, at 80, he participated in the DECCA recording of "Die
Rosenkavalier" (with Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by
Georg Solti), singing the supporting role of The Notary.
