A stuntman on the Brad Pitt movie Fury was rushed to hospital today after apparently being stabbed by a bayonet.
The 35-year-old was airlifted to Oxford's John Radcliffe hospital after the incident on the set of the second world war film, which is currently shooting in the countryside in the Chilterns foothills.
Fury, directed by David Ayer (End of Watch), is the story of a Us tank crew operating in Germany towards the end of the war, as they face a desperate enemy.
According to production company representative Claudia Kalindjian said: "There has been an accident between two professional stuntmen which happened in a rehearsed action sequence.
"It was an accident. It is obviously very unfortunate.

A stuntman has reportedly been stabbed on the Oxfordshire set of Brad Pitt's new movie Fury.
The unnamed man, 35, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford following the incident in which he was accidentally stabbed in the shoulder.
Production company spokeswoman Claudia Kalindjian said in a statement: "There has been an accident between two professional stuntmen which happened in a rehearsed action sequence.
"It was an accident. It is obviously very unfortunate. He left the set laughing and talking."
Set in 1945, Fury follows a five-man tank crew who must mount a last offence against the Nazi forces as the regime begins to crumble.
It was recently reported that the cast have been filming in cold, dank conditions, with Pitt reportedly spending up to 15 hours at a time in soggy soil.
The cast have undergone rigorous military training for the movie. Pitt and co-star Shia Labeouf were apparently left...

Given the violent subject matter in the forthcoming flick “Fury,” it’s no surprise that one of the stunt men sustained an injury earlier today (October 15).
According to production spokesperson Claudia Kalindjian, one of the stunt doubles for Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf's new film had to be taken to the hospital after being accidentally stabbed by a bayonet.
