Karen Keller was born in Denver, Colorado. She attended UCLA, studying
Graphic Design and Film before being hired by Disney Feature Animation
into the Layout Department. She was generously trained by many of the
animation veterans who had worked directly with Walt Disney on the
animation classics. Other uncredited work includes Walt Disney
Imagineering and Bob Rogers Productions. She was the Art Director for
Flower Planet, the first IMAX format animated film, for the Osaka
World's Fair in 1990, earning a Cine Golden Eagle award for artistic
excellence. Later work at Disney Feature Animation consisted of
providing visual development artwork, and key layout production
expertise and artistic training. She served three years on the the
Disney Artistic Review Board. In 2002 she left Disney to start Made in
Paradise Productions, Inc, an independent family entertainment
production company with Carol Police. Clients include Universal
Studios, Disneytoon Studios, Educational Adventures and Crest
Animation. She is developing original films under the banner of the
Bauhaus Keller Studio.
