Drunk airline passengers are nothing new, but Ralph Lauren's niece Jennifer Lauren apparently didn’t handle her buzz very well.
The 41-year-old jewelry designer got hammered and caused quite a scene on Monday when she insulted and assaulted members of the Delta Airlines flight crew.
While flying back to the USA, Lauren caused an emergency landing in West Ireland and ended up in jail Monday night (January 6). She subsequently paid a fine of $2,700.
An air marshal named Tom Kennedy told the court Lauren called one of the female flight attendants “a f**king ugly, blonde b*tch,” and pushed another worker “hard and knocked her hard up against the wall of the aircraft. The air hostess was frightened, but was not injured.”
Once she sobered up, Jennifer hired a lawyer who told the court that Lauren was upset and embarrassed by her actions, caused by a reaction to alcohol and medication.

Glenda Farrell: Actress has her ‘Summer Under the Stars’ day Scene-stealer Glenda Farrell is Turner Classic Movies’ "Summer Under the Stars" star today, August 29, 2013. A reliable — and very busy — Warner Bros. contract player in the ’30s, the sharp, energetic, fast-talking blonde actress was featured in more than fifty films at the studio from 1931 to 1939. Note: This particular Glenda Farrell has nothing in common with the One Tree Hill character played by Amber Wallace in the television series. The Glenda Farrell / One Tree Hill name connection seems to have been a mere coincidence. (Photo: Glenda Farrell as Torchy Blane in Smart Blonde.) Back to Warners’ Glenda Farrell: TCM is currently showing Torchy Runs for Mayor (1939), one of the seven B movies starring Farrell as intrepid reporter Torchy Blane. Major suspense: Will Torchy win the election? She should. No city would ever go bankrupt with Torchy at the helm. Glenda Farrell...

There’s a certain flavor to Stephen King’s 1970s novels that goes deeper than theme and tone and even feel, especially in the smaller, more personal stories like The Shining and ’Salem’s Lot and The Dead Zone. The books are certainly “of their time,” but it’s more than that: it’s a distinct spirit that’s difficult to pin down and even harder to describe. These books – as well as the Bachman novel Blaze, a relic from those early days – come from such a distinct time, place, and mindset in King’s career that the stories can’t help but reflect who and where their author was when they were written. Cheese aficionados and wine connoisseurs call this elusive essence terroir. At this late date, decades after those classic novels were published, it would be almost impossible to capture that exact flavor again, in a new novel...
