Reshoots for Captain America: Brave New World are now taking place and we have some fairly unrevealing photos from the movie's set. There's no sign of the cast, but a filming permit reveals potential spoilers for Sam Wilson's first solo outing.
The plan is to shoot an action sequence that will see Sam's car stopped by police using spike traps. A shootout follows, with one of the cops taking a bullet and the hero's car eventually exploding.
A hand-to-hand fight will follow, meaning we hopefully get something akin to Captain America: The Winter Soldier's memorable action scenes.
The new Captain America going on the run from the police has already been rumoured, though it sounds like this is either a replacement or addition to a sequence in the CinemaCon trailer with Sam being stopped by the authorities in Washington D.C.
It now seems safe to assume that...

There is a certain brand of silly Japanese comedy for which UK distributor Third Window Films has a keen nose. These slice of life films that use absurdist techniques to address either societal ills or simply tell a compelling story are often simultaneously universally accessible and uniquely Japanese. Keralino Sandorovich's Crime or Punishment?!?, based on a character in one of his own stage productions, is another of these remarkably well kept secrets that deserves a wider audience.Anyone who has seen a few of these comedies, specifically the ones that Third Window have released, can tell you that it is very difficult to sum up the plot is a simple synopsis. I'll do my best, but please be aware that in doing this, I'm leaving out...

★★★☆☆ You'd be forgiven for interpreting the title of Keralino Sandorovich's latest film, Crime or Punishment?!? (2011) as a mistranslated contemporary adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel about the moral consequences of murder on the human soul. However, whilst Sandorovich's film is an archetypal example of the quirky comedic output we’ve grown to expect from Japan, it does touch on some interesting themes of guilt, ill-advised infatuation and judicial justice - all told through an abundance of jokes based on bodily fluids and sexual desire.

Director: Keralino Sandorovich. Review: Adam Wing. Every day is pretty much like any other, that is of course, unless your name is Ayame (Riko Narumi) and you live in a world created by Keralino Sandorovich. With a pin-up career going nowhere fast, Ayame takes on the PR role of ‘police chief for the day’, a job that would normally require her to put on her best smile and act like she works for the police department. Unfortunately for Ayame, today is not a normal day. The staff at the police station insist on treating her like a real police chief and look to her for advice, enthusiasm and instruction. Which is bad enough in itself, but add to the mix an ex-boyfriend who works as a detective at the station, and you’re starting to have a very bad day indeed. Things are a little more complicated than that though,...

It has been a busy summer for our friends at Third Window Films. In addition to their theatrical and home video release of Cold Fish and the acquisition announcement a few weeks back regarding Underwater Love and Quirky Guys and Girls (Sabi Otoko Sabi Onna), they've just grabbed two more previously unavailable Japanese comedies. The newest additions to Third Window's awesome stable are MIki Satoshi's (Turtles are Suprisingly Fast Swimmers) Insects Unlisted in the Encyclopedia, and Keralino Sandorovich's Crime or Punishment?. Neither of these films are particularly new, with Insects going back to 2007 and Crime aor Punishment? being from 2009, but they've never been available on English friendly home video. Miki Satoshi will be a familiar name for Third Window fans and fans of...

After trying the comedy trade in the Ntv comedy series Enka no joō last year young actress Riko Narumi will get her first lead role in a comedic feature film titled Tsumi Toka Batsu Toka. Filming for the feature film has already wrapped up and we should expect to see this film in Spring of 2009. I only mention this because Riko Narumi also has a role in Naoto Takenaka’s zom-com Yamagata Scream, a film we’ve spoken about here before. His film is also due out in 2009.
The premise for Tsumi Toka Batsu Toka; Narumi is an unsuccessful idol who takes on the role of “police chief for a day,” a common PR opportunity for budding talents. But when a robbery takes place at a local convenience store, she actually attempts to resolve the incident.
Keralino Sandorovich will be directing the film. His page on Eigapedia cites that he...
