- He got his first engagements by the legendary director Fritz Lang and he was responsible for the set decoration of the movies "Der Herr der Liebe" (1919), "Die Spinnen" (1919) and "Halbblut" (1919).
- He became established as a production designer in the next years and he was responsible as a art director for the productions "Der Abgrund der Seelen" (1920), "Menschenopfer" (1922).
- After the war he was often engaged by the producer Peter Ostermayr.
