- Considered to be the father of modern nudism.
- Was the editor for the nudist publication 'Körperbildung/Nacktkultur' (Physical Education/Nude Culture) from 1928-1932.
- Adolf was the founder of Körperkulturschule Adolf Koch (Physical Culture School Adolf Koch), regarded to be a 'nudist school'. The school focused on physical education, amongst other health-related things, including hydrotherapy and heliotherapy. It would become a major influence on the Freikörperkulter (FKK) movement.
- Founder of Koch-Gymnastics, a form of gymnastics which combined elements of Dora Menzler ideas for exercise, and expressive dance. This new form of gymnastics was meant to be done nude, something Adolf saw as being essential for successful physical exercise. This form was supported by Dora Menzler and Anna Müller-Herrmann.
