NBC has renewed the Jane Lynch-hosted game show “Weakest Link” for a third season.
Season 3 will run for 20 episodes. Each episode sees eight contestants enter the studio as strangers and work together to bank the maximum amount of prize money available in each round. The contestants take turns to answer general knowledge questions to build chains of correct answers. Consecutive correct answers greatly increase the value of the chain, while incorrect answers break the chain and force the contestants to start over on the lowest rung with the smallest amount of money. At the end of each round, contestants vote to eliminate the fellow contestant they consider to be the “weakest link” in the chain. The series is based on a British format distributed by BBC Studios that has aired on BBC Two and BBC One, while also being produced in 46 other territories.

CNBC has greenlit a second season of primetime original series “Money Court” with entrepreneur and Skinnygirl founder and CEO Bethenny Frankel joining Kevin O’Leary (“Shark Tank”) as a new co-host.
Set to premiere in early 2023, the new season will feature the duo weighing in on and resolving a wide range of business disputes, money issues and dilemmas that every small and expanding business faces.
Whether it’s estranged partners battling over a deal gone sour, friends and business partners disagreeing over pricing strategy, or partners with different visions for their future, what all the cases have in common are real money and an agreement by the participants to abide by O’Leary and Frankel’s ruling.
“This has been my best television experience to date. The range in reviewing small businesses where everything is on the line to the riskiest hundred-million-dollar conflicts, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Kevin and...

NBC’s midseason Sunday lineup is starting to take shape with reality series Weakest Link and Canadian medical drama Transplant making their Season 2 debuts on the night March 6 at 9 Pm and 10 Pm, respectively.
The network introduces a new Sunday schedule following the end of Sunday Night Football. This year, the launch of the new lineup, which will include a third series airing at 8 Pm, is being delayed by NBC’s coverage of the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics.
Last season, NBC also started its midseason Sunday schedule with a game show at 9 Pm (Ellen’s Game of Games), followed by an hourlong scripted series at 10 Pm (Good Girls).
Transplant was originally acquired by NBC in the early months of the pandemic and was deployed in fall 2020 when all U.S. series had been delayed by Covid. Against atypical competition, the medical drama ranked as the #2 new drama in the...

Co-produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm and Universal Television Alternative Studio, the new version of Weakest Link will deliver the fast-paced and quick-witted pillars of the original British format created by the BBC with a few modern twists, NBC says. “I’ve been a longtime fan of this game-changing quiz show since it first debuted,” said Lynch. “Each time the phrase ‘You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye.’ passes my lips, it will be with great reverence and delight.

Amid some streamlining at Warner Bros.’ unscripted and alternative television division, Shed Media general manager Pamela Healy, Telepictures’ creative affairs exec vice president Stuart Krasnow and some development execs from each team are exiting, a source familiar with the matter has confirmed to Variety.
Potential back-office efficiencies are also being considered between both groups’ operations on a go forward basis. While Healy, Krasnow et al. will not be replaced, neither team is slated to shrink further at this point in time.

In a trimming of executive ranks at Warner Bros.’ Unscripted & Alternative Television division, Pam Healey, general manager of Shed Media, and Stuart Krasnow, executive vice president, creative affairs of Telepictures have exited the company, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap. Exclusive: Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television is trimming the executive ranks of two of its three divisions, Shed Media and Telepictures.
Leaving are Pam Healey, General Manager of Shed Media, and Stuart Krasnow, Evp Creative Affairs of Telepictures, along with a couple of development executives across both units. They won’t be replaced.
I hear the departures are part of streamlining across Shed Media and Telepictures, which also involves consolidating some finance, business and other back-office operations in cost synergies from efficiencies. Beyond that, Shed and Telepictures will continue to operate independently.
The biggest of the three Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative divisions, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, is not affected.
Healey had run cable-centric Shed Media since January 2013 and was responsible for supervising the development and production of original unscripted television series.
In light of her departure, her top lieutenants, Svp of Programming Dan Peirson and Lisa Shannon will take on leadership responsibilities.

On Mondays from Sept. 23 to Oct. 14 on PBS (check local listings), the new series "Genealogy Roadshow" travels to Nashville, Detroit, San Francisco and Austin, Texas, to see if stories passed down in people's families are actually true.
Experts in genealogy, history and DNA then use family heirlooms, letters, pictures, historical documents and other clues to verify the family legend.
Excutive producer Stuart Krasnow tells Zap2it, "Our casting process is that we really have put out outreach beforehand, and we did that through the PBS station, since we are a new show. These are very specific questions [that people have]. It's not just, 'Oh, tell me everything about my roots, where I came from.' It's really, 'We want to know if we are related to Abraham Lincoln,' for instance.
"Then our researchers and genealogists, along with our DNA collection, really go through and try to prove that claim or not prove that claim.

Each of her client's story is different, which also means highly unpredictable and emotionally-charged results. The show guarantees the clients the closure they are desperately seeking, whether they experience a joyous reunion, tragic loss, or painful rejection.
"Searching For…" will debut on Own: Oprah Winfrey Network on February 14.

Who are You more interested in watching: Sarah or her daughter Bristol’s baby daddy?
You’ve seen Levi Johnston’s naked bod in Playgirl, and now you’re going to see the hunky Alaskan expose even more of himself – in a new reality show about life in Alaska. But how will Bristol Palin’s baby daddy’s program compare to that of his archnemsis (and former potential mother-in-law-to-be) Sarah Palin’s own reality series?
The tentatively titled Levi Johnston’s Final Frontier has been equated to a Jersey Shore on ice by show producer Stuart Krasnow. Meaning, we assume, no tan, no scantily clad skin, but a heck of a lot of drinking.
Sarah’s series, the eight-part Tlc documentary Sarah Palin’s Alaska, sounds as different from Levi’s show as chalk and cheese. The 46-year-old former VP candidate’s show, which was announced on March...

MONTREAL -- Faced with a bear market for sitcoms, comics performing this week at Just For Laughs in Montreal were told Thursday to reduce their network deal expectations as the Canadian comedy festival approaches its closing weekend. "Don't be so snobby", Stuart Krasnow, a Santa Monica-based executive producer with Fremantle Media, said as he continued a search in Montreal for comics to host two game shows he's developing. "If Hulk Hogan can carry a sitcom about his life, then comics should also consider possibilities for work in hybrid reality/comedy shows," Krasnow said after participating in the "Just For Pitching" session Thursday afternoon. Just For Laughs over the years has launched sitcom careers for a number of comics that performed here, from Kevin James and Drew Carey to Dave Chappelle and Ray Romano.

Plus, FremantleMedia has a large library of formats that Krasnow will be able to peruse for possible adaptations.

Attention all aspiring male supermodels: Bravo is on a Manhunt. The cable network has ordered eight one-hour episodes of Manhunt: The Search for America's Most Gorgeous Male Model for the fall. Fifteen unsuspecting hunks will be plucked from obscurity to compete for a one-year contract from international modeling agency IMG. From IMG television arm TWI, the series will be produced by Stuart Krasnow (Average Joe). Similar in format to the UPN hit America's Next Top Model, Manhunt chronicles how the amateur models cope with the rigors of living life from the runways to the road. Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick sees Manhunt fitting in right alongside the network's other fashion-conscious shows, including Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Project Runway. "This explores the flip side of those laddie magazines," she said. "This is more in the GQ/Esquire territory. It's a competition for males that women will really love, too."...
