Amitabh Bachchan’s Film With Subhash Ghai Was Shelved After A Showdown & Then Boney Kapoor Pitched Ram Lakhan (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Old-age Bollywood is an era where a lot happened and was never revealed. Most of the stories were slid under covers, and many of them were shared and remembered in memories but weren’t published ever. One such story happened on one of the elaborate sets of Subhash Ghai’s film that starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
The angry young man was the muse for the showman of the industry, and they were working on a film titled Devaa. The shoot began in 1987. The film also starred Raaj Kumar, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Shammi Kapoor, and Ila Arun, and the music was given by Laxmikant Pyarelal. However, the film was eventually shelved. Guess why? Because of Big B, cheating Ghai and their regular ego-clashes.

Hrithik Roshan plays an Indian Air Force Officer in the upcoming film Fighter. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film is all set to release on January 25, 2024. The film is about a group of Iaf fighters who come together for a mission against Pakistan. It also stars Deepika Padukone, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Sanjeeda Shaikh as Indian Air Force officers.
After watching the cast look terrific in uniforms, we thought we would research a bit about men and women in uniform on-screen. To our surprise, while there are plenty of films made on the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Navy remain much unexplored on-screen.

‘Deepavali Deepavali’ (‘Mudduni Maava’) – Perhaps the ultimate song for celebrating Diwali, this song from the 1993 Kannada film starring veteran actors Shashi Kumar, and Shruti in the lead role, is a timeless Diwali song. There was one occasion when Dev Anand, forced to quit a blue-collar job he depended on for sustenance, ripped his elder brother Chetan Anand of Rs (the then) princely sum of Rs 5,000 to launch a less than moral venture, and if this was not enough, began wooing the girl his younger brother Vijay ‘Goldie’ Anand fancied, and eventually in luring her away.
If these sordid revelations shock you, do not think too badly of Dev Anand. For all this did not happen in real life, but in reel life, in the social romantic comedy “Kala Bazaar” (1960), which has several distinctions to its credit but chiefly stands out for being the only film in which all the three Anand brothers acted together.
While Chetan Anand had directed the early Dev Anand films, he had sought to branch out on his own after “Taxi Driver” (1954) to indulge in his own creativity, and...

Shahid Kapoor is one of the most talented, good-looking and popular actors we have in Bollywood. He commands a huge fan following across the nation and on social media.
There have also been some crazy female fans he has witnessed over the years. However, there was one incident when he was stalked by a female fan who was not just any commoner, but the daughter of a legendary Bollywood actor.
According to reports, Shahid and late yesteryear actor Raaj Kumar’s daughter Vastavikta Pandit met each other during Shiamak Davar’s dance classes. For the star daughter, it was love at first sight. Although Shahid didn’t respond to her feelings. She went to the extent of stalking him on movie sets, sitting on the bonnet of his car and obstructing him while he was shooting outdoors.
Fed up off this craziness, Shahid registered a police complaint against her.

Remember the super hit song Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Yeh..... from Meena Kumari's timeless classic Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai. Incidentally, the Daastaan (story) of Meena Kumari's life has suddenly become a hot piece of news since biopics are ruling the roost in Bollywood hence everybody is keen to exploit the life of the tragedy queen and mint money.
On one hand filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia has reportedly signed Queen actress Kangana Ranaut to play Meena Kumari in his film which is an adaption of the biography on Meena Kumari, penned by eminent late journalist Vinod Mehta.
On the other hand, interestingly, Meena Kumari's step-son Tajdar Amrohi, son of Kamal Amrohi from his first wife, is also making a movie titled Meena Baa Kamaal (Meena - the extraordinary). Initially Manisha Koirala was announced to play the lead but she declined the offer and now a new actress would play the part.

Shimla, Jan 15: Just as you leave the Mall, the hill station's main shopping street, towards the chief minister's official residence, the narrow road meanders its way to a heritage hotel owned by the erstwhile royal family of Jubbal that has an enduring link to Bollywood.
Uday Singh and his grand Woodville Palace, now a heritage hotel with typical British Raj architecture, have over the years seen no less than 25 films shot there, among them Prakash Mehra's "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar", Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Black" and Raj Kumar Hirani's "3 Idiots".
But then, the former royal has also witnessed the ugly side of the picture.

Coming up on Friday we get to see the great Vidya Balan take on another avatar and this one is quite kooky! Yes, Vidya is testing her comedy chops and playing funny in the upcoming Raj Kumar Gupta directed Ghanchakkar, which also stars Emraan Hashmi. The actress plays Neetu Athray aka Mrs. Ghanchakkar who is described as a lady with a sweet demeanor with a firebrand Punjaban trapped inside. Neetu is not into comfy clothes – she is into fashion atrocities. She never thinks enough is ever enough, she believes life should be lived young when one Is young and everything from the TV to the apartment to family holidays should be king-size.
We got a very quick and way to short 6 minutes with the actress and she gave us an inside look at playing Neetu! Check it out!

Directed by notable filmmaker Kamal Amrohi, Pakeezah (1972) contains everything one would envisage in a typical Bollywood film. This includes drama, romance, suspense, astounding cinematography, as well as exquisite song and dance sequences. It is a film which surely anyone infatuated with Indian cinema will love. It is also remembered for being one of the last great films to have starred the legendary actress Meena Kumari. She has been dubbed the ‘tragedy queen’ of Indian Cinema and also set the foundation when it comes to intense method acting. The film began production in the late 1950s, but took 14 years to complete. Due to a rift between Amrohi and Kumari (who were married to each other), filming came to a halt and it was in 1972 that the audience finally saw the beauty that is Pakeezah. These 14 years were no doubt worth the wait!

Who would have known that forty-four years after Raja Harishchandra (1913), India would be subjected to one of the most powerful and touching epics to have ever released from their film industry. This film was of course Mehboob Khan’s magnum opus Mother India (1957). A remake of Khan’s previous film Aurat (1940), Mother India has renowned actress Nargis playing the role of Radha; who is by far one of the greatest characters to have graced the big screen. The film was released 10 years after India’s independence and partition from British colonial rule. It is centred on the social and economic conditions of the country during the post-independence era and met with unanimous acclaim both from the critics and the public.
The story is based on Radha, Shamu (Raaj Kumar) and their children, who are subjected to extreme exploitation from Sukhilala (Kanhaiyalal) after Shamu’s mother takes a 500 rupee loan from...

Mumbai, Mar 2: Actor Raj Kumar Yadav, who has portrayed the character of Govind in "Kai Po Che", says he was earlier rejected for the same role.
He admits he was only chosen once casting director Mukesh Chhabra came on board.
"Many people wouldn't know that earlier when it (the film) was with Excel Entertainment, there was another casting director and I had auditioned for the role of Govind and I was rejected.
"After that when Mukesh bhai came on board, a list was given to him that these people have auditioned and they are not to be called, my name was also there in it," Raj Kumar said here Friday at the Andheri.
