Howard Lapides, the veteran manager and producer whose clients have included the likes of Dr. Drew Pinsky, Tom Green and Adam Carolla, has died at the age of 68.
Lapides died at his home on Thursday following a battle with colon cancer, a publicist confirmed to TheWrap.
As CEO of Lapides Entertainment, Lapides also represented Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Chapin, Kennedy, Mark DeCarlo and Christopher Darden, among others. He also served as executive producer on Pinsky’s “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House With Dr. Drew” on VH1.

“Howard was more than a manager. He was family and I will miss him immensely,” Pinsky said in a statement. “He was the architect of everything I’ve ever done. He was my confidant, champion and protector for the last 25 plus years and I am devastated by this loss.”

Dr. Drew Pinsky hasn't permanently checked out of " Celebrity Rehab " -- the show is currently on hold ... but TMZ has learned, VH1 is keeping Drew on deck for a possible reboot. Pinsky, who currently stars on the VH1 reality show, Celebrity Rehab, is partnering with his manager Howard Lapides for this venture. His productions will be unscripted shows that will feature Pinsky, as well as other talent. The company has already shot a pilot titled Estranged With Dr. Drew in which couples decide if they want to remain together. Dr. Drew currently hosts the MTV series, Sex ... With Mom and Dad. The first project is a pilot, "Estranged With Dr. Drew," where couples decide if they want to reunite or separate. The pilot is being shopped with Picture This TV.

VH1 has announced a new documentary show featuring their resident doctor. "Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew" will examine sex addiction, premiering on November 1.
Dr. Drew Pinsky and a team of experts on the subject will guide eight patients through an intensive state of the art program. The participants will live together for 21 days and meet with Dr. Drew in daily one-on-one and group therapy sessions.
The show is executive produced by John Irwin and Bruce Toms for Irwin Entertainment. Dr. Drew and Howard Lapides are also exec producing. VH1 assigned Jeff Olde, Jill Holmes, and Noah Pollack as exec producers.
A sneak peek of the season's first season will air on VH1 on October 26.

Buddy's, which is being developed with Breakthrough Animation of Toronto, centers on Buddy, who owns a gay bar and comes under the scrutiny of a bullying "family values" city councilman.
