JacQue Lawson is a native of the Los Angeles area having grown up in
Long Beach, California. She grew up performing skits and singing and
dancing for her family and friends and officially hit the stage in her
school's 7th grade production of "The Seven Wives of Dracula". Being
almost 6ft. tall even at age 12, she took to the character roles and it
stuck. After spending all her teen summers in summer stock theater, she
moved on to doing background work for movies and television and because
of her unique size and character, was eligible to join SAG and AFTRA
soon after. She has been an active member of both unions for over 20
yrs., mostly being cast in fun and interesting character roles, such as
"biker chick", "prison guard" or "vampire stripper".
In 1999 JacQue was hired as an extras casting director at Sande Alessi
casting and fell in love with the casting process. She has worked for
other extras casting agencies as well, casting and booking extras and
principle actors and coordinating extras on many big-budget feature
films.
(2012) Currently, JacQue is working as a stand-in for the television
show "Glee" and is in the process of opening her own extras casting
agency for character actors only, called "Reel Characterz".
