Was an original member of The Flying Burrito Brothers. He wrote the song "My Man", which appears on Eagles' "On the Border" album, as a tribute to the Burritos late founder, Gram Parsons.
During the 1970s he lived with then California governor Ronald Reagan's daughter Patti Davis, during which time the couple co-wrote "I Wish You Peace," a track that appeared on the Eagles' 1975 album "One of These Nights".
