TORONTO -- Musician Ronnie Hawkins and music publisher Jim West were tapped Wednesday to enter the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in March. Both will be inducted in Toronto during the Canadian Music Week, which runs March 3-6. Having moved to Toronto during the early 1960s, Arkansas-born Hawkins became a mainstay of the Canadian music industry, including playing with the Band. He also performed at President Clinton's 1992 inaugural party. "It's the greatest honor that can ever happen," Hawkins said. "This'll make my grandkids think I must have been a somebody." West started his own music label, Justin Time Records, in June 1983, and has released some 350 albums, including work by Diana Krall, Oliver Jones, Ranee Lee, the Susie Arioli Swing Band and the Montreal Jubilation Choir.
