For the first time in its 61-year history, the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast live in the States Saturday (3/2c, Logo). And, since I’m as close to an expert on the subject as anyone on the TVLine staff — I co-wrote Austria’s winning entry in 2014 and have had three other songs reach the finals — I thought maybe I was the right person to give you some idea of what to expect from the mega-popular continent-wide competition. (Last year’s audience was a record-breaking 197 million viewers worldwide.) Ready? Here goes…

The judge in the high-profile patent infringement case between Samsung and Apple has asked a lawyer for the iPhone maker whether he was "smoking crack". Judge Lucy Koh lost her cool after Apple's legal team handed in a 75-page briefing covering 22 potential rebuttal witnesses that the company might want to call after Samsung finishes its case. The Verge reports that with the jury out of the courtroom, judge Koh questioned why they would present such a lengthy document, remarking: "Unless you're smoking crack you know these witnesses aren't going to be called!" Apple attorney William Lee replied: "First, your honor, I'm not smoking crack. I can promise you that." The firm's legal team then agreed to slim down the document and insisted that they were not trying to overburden the court, which is deciding on a tit-for-tit dispute (more)...
