American novelist and journalist, famous for his tautly-written work "Compulsion" (1956), based on the famous Leopold-Loeb murder case.
Father: Joseph Levin; Mother: Golda Levin.
Having gone on a European vacation with future actor Will Geer, he wasn't able to cover the court trial for Leopold & Loeb, for which he later based his bestseller, Compulsion.
