Langford’S Picks And Pans
Good Times, Bad Times
I get where the show is going with this. They are setting it up for Lucas to finally move on with his life after Edwin’s death and eventually find a new love. But it seems like these scenes should have played out months ago, given that Edwin died early this year. Oh well, at least it’s finally happening. I’d like to see Lucas in a new relationship — though judging by the spoilers I’ve seen about Lucas’ possible new romance, maybe I might want Lucas to grieve a little bit longer. But we’ll discuss that in a future column. For now, let’s stick with the events of this week’s show.
I think, for me, the highlight — even if I think the story arc is flawed — were the relationships between the characters. The banter between Lucas...

Offspring
I’m sad to see Andrew leave Offspring, especially since I’d just discovered the character and this show, but at least he’s getting a happy ending. Now that doesn’t matter to me, but I know it does to a lot of people, who think, rightfully or wrongly, that things always end badly for gays on television. I do hope he comes back, if only to continue to help his brother and his wife father their baby, a story with potential. Though personally, I’d rather have Andrew and Tim have an off screen breakup and Andrew come back to the show on a permanent basis. And I did like Mick and Andrew’s goodbye. I’ve enjoyed their sibling relationship as it grew and flourished over the past several months, maybe even as much as Andrew’s romance with Tim.

San Diego-based Deathcore unit Carnifex take their handle from the ancient word meaning "executioner," and that should give you a hint of the sonic ultra-violence they're throwing down in their new video for Sorrowspell – the second single from their latest album Hell Chose Me. It's so brutal, in fact, that FEARnet chose them too... hey, why let the devil have all the best tunes? We're giving this clip a nice home for all you extreme music maniacs to visit... so strap yourself in, hit the jump and wait for the axe(s) to fall! The caustic combo of "vo-kill-list" (heh heh) Scott Lewis's face-ripping growls, off-the-chain riffage of guitarists Cory Arford & Ryan Gudmunds, gut-punching bass...
