Supposedly Frank Zappa hired Lickert by happenstance when, in desperation, he said he would give the part to the next person who walked into the room. Lickert turned down an offer to tour with the group.
- Later became involved with horse racing as a bookie and race horse owner.
- Studied law in the 1980s and eventually became a barrister in 1986.
