Whistle-blowing Nato doctor Anna Bennett (Manal El-Feitury) tells him that the vapour has the power to reanimate a corpse... and pretty soon John is seeing the terrifying evidence for himself as a massive explosion sees the city teeming with ravenous mutants.

Interestingly, a post we did back in 2008 about Playgirl magazine moving to the web is one of the most read articles we have ever written. At the time, we included a few covers with soap opera actors featured. Since this post continues to be read three years later week after week we thought it was time to update for those interested. So bad it's good? This cynical attempt to try for Ed Wood-style uselessness is just plain awful, writes Peter Bradshaw
A cynical and humourless attempt to fabricate B-movie chuckles in the "creature-feature/red-scare" vein, from the people who made the recent shlockbuster hit Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus. A mutant strain of piranha fish in Venezuela is getting bigger and heading north, leaping out of the water and chomping people. Ohmygaard: could it be that something dreadful in Chávez's Venezuela might infect the Us of A? To bring these critters down, a special forces super-hunk (Paul Logan) teams up with scientist Sarah Monroe, played by 80s popster Tiffany. With a nod and wink, the film serves up loads of wooden acting, porn-star performances without the porn, cheeky stock footage and deliberately rubbish special effects. I can't think of anything more dispiriting than a film consciously faking it for the so-bad-it's-good market.

In general, I am a pacifist. But when it comes to freaky movie monsters and other bad guys, I love to see someone go all Jackie Chan on them. That.s just what actor Paul Logan gets to do in his role in the Syfy.s original movie .Mega Piranha.. If you go to the Syfy Web site.s movies section, you can take a sneak peek at Paul kicking the snot out of some super-sized fishies. It.s crazy and it.s fun. Last Tuesday, Paul kindly let me chat him up about .Mega Piranha. and a couple of his other projects. Since there is a lot of CG in the film, I asked how hard it was to react and fight when faced with only a green screen. Paul said that he.d done a lot of improv work and that having a good imagination helped him deal with the unseen evil.

Oh no, a mutant strain of piranha have been released from the Amazon! They are coming this way to bite the s*(^ out of your DVD player, unless 80s pop queen Tiffany (Necrosis) can stop them! This is the plotline for the latest Asylum release, Megapiranha, which releases on DVD April 27th. The Asylum is on the loose with the campiest of horror. 6 Guns, Paranormal Entity, and a strangely lucid Sherlock Holmes are all titles from The Asylum catalogue, that will be released shortly.
