- Jan Lustig was born on December 23, 1902 in Brünn, Austria-Hungary [now Brno, Czech Republic]. He was a writer, known for Moonfleet (1955), La dame de Malacca (1937) and Knights of the Round Table (1953). He died on April 24, 1979 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
- Czech-born screenwriter, often billed as H.G. Lustig. Educated at Prague University, he started out in Berlin as a journalist, short story writer and movie critic. He then worked as a writer for Pathe in France before moving to Hollywood, where he was signed by MGM to work on several commercially successful films.
