He came from Vienna to Berlin and got a job at the production company PAGU in 1913. Only one year later he could realise for PAGU his first movie as a director with "Die Direktion verlobt sich" (1914).
The director Richard Löwenbein belonged to the German film pioneers whose cinematical career already begain in 1914.
When the National Socialists seized the power he was no longer able to work in Germany as a Jew and he went to France. But when Germany invaded this country he was arrested and brought to Auschwitz in 1943 where he was murdered shortly afterwards.
Richard Löwenbein realised in the 20's besides his comedies also some dramas which were very popular in the 20s as well.
