Look, up there in the sky – it’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s President Donald Trump?
The New York Times reported Saturday that President Trump floated the idea of a stunt when he left Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after treatment for Covid-19. The plan called for Trump to appear frail when people first saw him. Then he would open his button-down dress shirt and reveal a Superman t-shirt.
Ultimately, he did not go ahead with the stunt.
At his brief White House appearance on Saturday, Trump saw several teal blue shirts among the attendees. “I want to put one of them on instead of a white shirt.”
Naturally, the Superman revelation brought out the Twitterati for some kryptonite comments. But one supporter who played the Man of Steel thought it was a good idea.
It would have been unforgettable. https://t.co/bRFQpJCkf8

Update: Debra Messing has responded via Twitter to President Trump and others who accuse her of Joseph McCarthy style tactics in her call for identifying and shaming donors to Trump’s re-election.
Using her own tweetstorm, Messing addressed Trump’s earlier comment that he hasn’t forgotten her obsequious behavior when his TV show The Apprentice was doing well. She used a combination of her own tweets and responses from others to fight back.
A sample of Messing’s comments:
Who have I donated to?@HarleyRouda @RepKatieHill @AmyMcGrathKY @kaikahele @KamalaHarris @JulianCastro @harrisonjaime
Anyone running against Susan Collins.

Mike Huckabee Suffers Twitter's Wrath for Cheap Shot About Ruth Bader Ginsburg Skipping Trump's Sotu
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is skipping President Trump’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee felt the need to explain why in the form of a tasteless Twitter joke.
On Sunday, the Republican tweeted a photo of the infamous moment when Ginsburg nodded off during former President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech in 2015.
“It’s not fair that ppl are criticizing Justice Ginsberg for skipping Sotu! Security concerns wouldn’t allow her to bring Cpap machine into House Chamber,” Huckabee joked, referring to a device called a continuous positive airway pressure machine,...

First Lady Melania Trump spoke out against bullying at a U.N. luncheon on Wednesday — in a speech the Twitterverse found more than a little ironic.
“It remains our generation’s moral imperative to take responsibility for what our children learn. We must turn our focus right now to the message and content they are exposed to on a daily basis — social media, the bullying,” she said at an event for spouses of world leaders at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

Updated: Animated series writers are protesting a decision by the Television Academy to allow NBC’s Community to compete for Emmys in animated categories, arguing that they should be allowed similar cross-genre privileges.
Community made it onto the Emmy nomination ballot in several categories, including best animated program — along with 33 entries from full-time animated shows. The episode, “Digital Estate Planning,” features the cast rendered into 8-bit characters to compete in an old-school-style video game.
Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), David X. Cohen (Futurama) and Al Jean (The Simpsons) are among the 52 writer-producers who signed a letter to the TV Academy arguing...

It was a communal, sarcastic and distinctly anti-flyover love fest when Seth MacFarlane visited the 2010 PaleyFest Tuesday.
As expected, the event had more of a Comic Con feel to it then the normally more reserved Paley atmosphere. Obsessed fans of 'Family Guy,' 'American Dad' and 'The Cleveland Show' (or fans of all three when you consider they're all kind of the same show) packed into the lavish Saban Theatre to watch MacFarlane sip a little booze, take a few potshots and soak up the adulation.
MacFarlane was joined by Seth Green, Alex Borstein, Dan Palladino, Steve Marmel, Rich Appel, Mike Barker, Danny Smith and Kara Vallow. But MacFarlane held court as the center of attention.
Unfortunately, the presence of Bill Maher (someone who never really was that funny) as host of an event dedicated to MacFarlane (one of the industry's most influential and powerful comedic minds) steered the...

NEW ORLEANS -- Look out, Miley and Hilary, here comes Demi.
Disney Channel has greenlighted the live-action comedy series "Welcome to Mollywood", starring Demi Lovato of the network's upcoming Jonas Brothers movie "Camp Rock".
It's a role that could potentially put Lovato on the teen queen career path trod so successfully by Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff.
The tentatively titled series -- executive produced by Brian Robbins, Sharla Sumpter Bridgett, Steve Marmel and Michael Feldman -- centers on Molly (Lovato), a 15-year-old small-town girl who, after a nationwide search, is chosen to join the cast of the most popular and long-running teen sketch comedy show on television. The sitcom will feature a show-within-a-show with fully produced comedy sketches.
Lovato was introduced to Disney Channel viewers last year in the shortform comedy series "As the Bell Rings". She also co-stars in Disney's upcoming telefilm "Princess Protection Program".
Lovato also has a recording contract with Disney's Hollywood Records and will tour with The Jonas Brothers in the summer.
