Plot: A robotics engineer invents a robotic doll that develops a (murderous) mind of her own.
Review: Hollywood loves a killer doll. Think about some of the great ones, like Fats from Magic, Chucky – of course – and add M3GAN to the list thanks to Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s modestly budgeted crowdpleaser. Directed by Housebound director Gerard Johnstone with a camp vibe that makes it feel very much in the mode of producer James Wan’s Malignant, M3GAN stars Allison Williams as a robotics genius named Gemma, who works for a big toy company. She’s invented a pet substitute toy called Purrpetual Pets that are all the rage but has started getting knocked off by competitors. But, she’s on to something much bigger – a humanoid robot that acts as a constant companion to their child owners. She finds a great test subject in her niece, Violet McGraw’s Cady,...

Prince in the early-to-mid ‘80s was spitting out hot songs at such a clip, it’s no wonder he shared the wealth. And wealth it was: his “Manic Monday” was The Bangles’ first hit, reaching top 5 in the U.S., while Sinead O’Connor never had a more successful song than “Nothing Compares To U,” a near-global #1. Prince’s overflow songs also functioned as brand extensions, especially when covered by acts in his creative camp: Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, The Time, Sheila E.

Grab your raspberry beret, because new Prince music is coming! Though the iconic musician passed away in 2016 at the age of 57, his legacy has continued to live on. He graced the world with classics such as "Purple Rain" and "Let's Go Crazy," but soon, we'll get to hear even more tunes. On Thursday, the Prince Estate and Warner Bros. Records announced an upcoming posthumous album titled Originals, which will consist of 14 previously unreleased demos from the luminary. The song "Nothing Compares 2 U" that was released as a single in 2018 will also be included on the album.
Although Prince wrote a number of hits for other artists, he often recorded his own versions that remained under wraps. The LP will solely feature some of those tracks, including ones originally performed by Kenny Rogers, Sheila E., The Time, Martika, Apollonia 6, Vanity 6, and The Bangles. The songs were specifically chosen by Jay-Z and music manager Troy Carter.

The album comprises songs from Prince’s “Vault” recordings, which were selected by Troy Carter on behalf of the late singer’s estate alongside Jay-z. Okay, I'm going to try and keep calm. Calmer than I was last night when I e-mailed my colleagues at Ae about this with the subject line "Omg! Omg! Omg! Omg! Omg!" As someone who's a tad obsessed with the 80's, I was thrilled when SyFy announced their dueling Tiffany/Debbie Gibson mega-creature movies, even if I thought the finished products were disappointing. Now comes word that ... just breathe ... both pop princesses are teaming up for the new SyFy sure-to-be classic ... wait for it ... Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid

Today we step into the chart time machine to fly 20 years into the past, a time when "Seinfeld" was a brand new show, the Nintendo Game Boy was just making its debut and Tim Burton's version of "Batman" was the top movie in the country. What was the soundtrack to all this retro fun? Martika's "Like Toy Soldiers." The song was hit the top spot in the country on July 22, 1989, and stayed there for two weeks before yielding the floor to Prince's "Batdance."
