Fatal Games (1984) Movie Review
Directed By: Michael Elliot
Written By Rafael Bunuel & Michael Elliot
Starring: Sally Kirkland (Diane), Lynn Banashek (Annie Rivers), Sean Masterson (Phil Dandridge), Michael O’Leary (Frank Agee), Teal Roberts (Lynn Fox), Spice Williams-Crosby (Coach Drew), Melissa Prophet (Nancy Wilson), Angela Bennett (Sue Allen Baines), Nicholas Love (Joe Ward), Lauretta Murphy (Shelly), Michael Elliot (Dr. Jordine), Christopher Mankiewicz (Coach Webber)
Stick with the Olympics! This movie is a game of fatally flawed, slow mayhem. Coming at the end of the slasher peaks in the 1980s, “Fatal Games” attempts to be different but is too flawed to even find enjoyable.
Michael Elliot’s direction could use polishing but this was the only movie he did thank goodness. This movie has only been released by Media Home Entertainment on VHS.

Atrocious title aside, this improvised comedy gameshow is a worthier successor to Whose Line Is It Anyway‘s crown than BBC2′s recent Fast & Loose, primarily because it’s the same basic show with only minor differences. A svelte Drew Carey (host of Whose Line‘s Us remake) ostensibly takes charge, supported by a bunch of all-star improvisers: Whose Lineveterans Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Chip Esten, Jeff Davis and Brad Sherwood, teamed with Jonathan Magnum and Sean Masterson from Drew Carey’s Green Screen (a short-lived post-Whose Line improv show), and joined by Kathy Kinney and MADtv’s Heather Anne Campbell.
The series was shot at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, giving Improv-a-Ganza the unshakeable feel of Whose Line Is It Anyway: Live In Vegas. It’s pretty much the same format, just with a more impressive stage and trivial tweaking. The biggest change is the lack...

Drew Carey and crew from his new Gsn show, "Improv-a-ganza" try to figure out what words they can and can not use on the show:
Drew Carey’S Improv-a-ganza, a new original, primetime daily strip show will premiere Monday, April 11, 2011 at 8:00pm Et/Pt on Gsn. The 40-episode series was taped during a series of live improv performances at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in January and February 2011.
With Wayne Brady making special guest appearances, Carey and his fellow cast members create a lively, unpredictable and hilarious half-hour of improvised sketch comedy, complete with audience participation.
Trying to come up with a new slogan:
Cast members include:
Heather Anne Campbell—The talented improv artist has performed with troupes in Chicago, Los Angeles and Amsterdam, appeared on MADtv, and pranked with ImprovEverywhere in the YouTube hit, “Food Court Musical.”
Jeff Davis—Davis started acting at age...

If you've missed Whose Line Is It Anyway?, you probably already know about Drew Carey's Improv-a-Ganza. Another run at an improv show, many of your favorites from Whose Line? return to take a shot at cracking you up. Taped live at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the show premieres Monday, April 11th at 8pm on Gsn.
You are definitely going to want to clear your schedule for this one. Carey brings back some of the funniest people you'll ever want to see, including: the always brilliant Ryan Stiles (sorry, he's my favorite), the never shy about his hair Colin Mochrie, and the recently of much younger television Greg Proops.
A fan of Whose Line? since the original, British version, I'm quite excited to see not only the familiar faces, but any incarnation of improv, and this one is going to be good. In case you needed...
