- In the film Twins of Evil (1971), her character is executed by being burned at the stake. The stunt was performed by Matheson herself, with no special effects or stunt double. There was also a Fire Safety Officer present on the set for everyone's safety. Ironically, Matheson has stated that instead of being nervous over performing a potentially dangerous stunt, she was more excited about the fact that she was working with Peter Cushing, whom she had great admiration for.

- In 2018, she revealed to her fans (via social media page) that she was slated to appear in a film with Lynne Frederick, John Hamill, and Nina Zuckerman during the early 1970s. She stated that she spent three weeks marooned in Amsterdam with her co-stars waiting for producers to gather funds to budget the film, doing costume testing/fitting, and rehearsals. The film project was ultimately scrapped after producers failed to gather the necessary budget to green light the film.
- After production wrapped on The Exquisite Cadaver (1969), the film's director, Vicente Aranda, presented her with a special gift, a necklace with a hand charm. She still has the necklace to this day, and even occasionally wore it on screen in her subsequent films.
- Appeared on 13 episodes of the television series Crossroads (1964). A show which has been referred to as "The Actor's Graveyard", with many actors expressing regret over their appearance on the series. However, Matheson is one of the few actors who have remained unapologetic about it and has stated how much of a wonderful experience it was in her career.
- For her appearance on Rummage (1978), where she played a Liverpudlian exotic dancer, the British Broadcasting Company hired Brandy di Frank, a professional dancer, to give her stripping lessons.
- Was considered for a role in A Clockwork Orange (1971).
- Revealed in a 2018 interview with "Rabbit and Snail" that she auditioned, and nearly came close, to being cast in a film for the "Carry On" franchise. Although she couldn't recall which film in the franchise specifically, she did add that she was called to Pinewood Studios for the audition process with three or four other actress who were also trying out for the part.
