We may never get to see an actual “Friends” reunion show, but five of the six cast members showed up to film an NBC special to honor legendary director James Burrows over the weekend.
Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox all posed for photos with fellow stars Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg and Jim Parsons during the big shindig.
Unfortunately, Matthew Perry couldn’t make it as he’s currently starring in the play “The End of Longing” in the UK. His rep told press, “Matthew may tape something for the tribute. In other words this is not the reunion people have been hoping for.” “A Tribute To James Burrows” is slated to hit the NBC airwaves on February 21st at 9pm.

Sorry, "Friends" fans, but that so-called "reunion" of the six sitcom castmates isn't really a reunion anymore: One of the main friends won't be there for you.
Matthew Perry will be absent when production starts on the planned tribute to legendary sitcom director James Burrows, which was to have featured several casts of his famous series, including "Frasier," "Will & Grace," "The Big Bang Theory," and the "Friends" crew. Perry is currently in London rehearsing for a new play, "The End of Longing," which is set to begin previews in the coming weeks. The Burrows special -- which is airing on NBC next month -- is set to tape on January 24.
NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt had gotten fans' hopes up earlier this week when he announced at a Television Critics Association panel that the "Friends" gang -- Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Perry, and David Schwimmer -- were...

Chandler Bing himself, Matthew Perry, will have to send a tape to honour veteran TV director James Burrows at the Friends reunion…
Update
After the initial excitement of waking up to the news of a Friends reunion yesterday, cynicism started to creep in a little. Especially with that quote from NBC’s Bob Greenblatt floating around. “I'm not sure if we can logistically pull that off,” he said, regarding herding the entire Central Perk gang into a room together after 12 years.
Now, after only a day, it seems like his Greenblatt’s concerns were justified. Matthew Perry’s spokeswoman Lisa Kasteler has said that "Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing."
"NBC executives were aware of this prior to their announcement," she added, before mentioning that "Matthew may tape something for the tribute. In other words,...

Sorry, but if your bucket list included “Read a comic book that has an explanation of the dying declaration exception to the hearsay rule on Page One,” you can’t cross it off your list yet. Because, despite what you read in She-Hulk v 3 # 9, you still haven’t read a comic book which has an explanation of the dying declaration on Page One.
She-Hulk v 3 # 9 is the middle chapter of a three-part story about Steve (Captain America) Rogers being sued for wrongful death in Los Angeles over an incident that happened on the L.A. docks in the year 1940. Cap was represented by Jennifer (She-Hulk) Walters and the Foglers, the family suing Cap, were represented by Matt (Daredevil) Murdock. Chapter One in issue 8 was the set-up. In issue 9, the middle chapter, the trial is about to begin.

Chicago – Matt Walsh has been more visible lately, and it has much to do with his approach to character roles, beginning as Mike McLintock on the HBO series “Veep” and currently in the new film “Into the Storm.” For a Chicago native who began doing comedy improvisation here, he is moving on up.
Matthew Paul Walsh was born in Chicago, and graduated from Hinsdale High School. After college at Northern Illinois University, he became enamored of the improv scene in Chicago in the early 1990s, and studied under the master instructor Del Close. While dividing time between the Annoyance Theater and the ImprovOlympics (iO) in the city, he helped to found the “Uptight Citizens Brigade” (Ucb), which also featured Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser. The troupe got its own show on Comedy Central, and has opened Ucb theaters in New York and Los Angeles.

Cannes -- It's hard to know where to start when analyzing what went wrong with a film as preposterous and phony as Atom Egoyan's "The Captive," a kidnapping drama that kicked off the first Friday of this year's Cannes Film Festival. Egoyan is a frustrating filmmaker these days. In the early part of his career, his work was distinguished by a chilly, clinical style and a fascination with perspective. "Next Of Kin," "Family Viewing," and "Speaking Parts" all displayed enormous promise, and he hit his stride with films like "Exotica" and "The Sweet Hereafter." Lately, though, his films feel half-baked, increasingly distanced from any recognizable human behavior, and with "Devil's Knot," his dramatic take on the story of the West Memphis Three, it felt to me like he'd gone completely off the rails as a storyteller. I couldn't even figure out what point he thought he was making with...

Get ready for a whole new Darcy - The Americans star Matthew Rhys plays literature's most iconic lover (sorry, Heathcliff) in BBC One's new three-part drama Death Comes to Pemberley.
Based on the novel by Pd James, Death Comes to Pemberley is part Pride and Prejudice sequel, part murder-mystery and also stars Anna Maxwell Martin, Matthew Goode and Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman.
On set, Rhys opened up about stepping into Colin Firth's shoes - or rather donning his shirt - and reveals why his is a very different Darcy...
Matthew is slightly jealous of his co-star Matthew Goode...
"He's got it all - he's got the rock star looks, the rock star attitude, hollow legs, vast knowledge. He's like Stephen Fry - he knows something about everything... he actually knows a lot about everything.
"He's got that voice. He gets the accent for free - I feel like a complete fake.

It looks like even the competition is loving Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler on ‘The Voice.’ Team Christina’s talented crooners have dominated the live shows since day one, and Blake Shelton is finally starting the feel the heat.
The Voice has always been about finding that next voice, but competition between the coaches is a huge component in what keeps fans coming back for more. So when HollywoodLife hit The Voice‘s big elimination show last night, we just had to ask — is Blake Shelton shaking in his cowboy boots over Team Christina’s talent? With a movie titled Last Love, it’s natural to expect a love story to end all love stories. A tale of two people finally finding something more than what they want – what they need. But instead of the love story you’d expect to get from a film with a title like Last Love, director Sandra Nettelbeck teases a more traditional romance, and instead delivers a tale of platonic love between a man who needs someone to care, and a kind woman who cares enough to be that someone.
Last Love tells the story of Matthew Morgan (Michael Caine), an elderly man who is trying to get along three years after his wife’s death. He has very few friends, a strained relationship with his children, and just doesn’t know what to do with his life without the person that he was with for so long. He struggles...

But it’s always darkest before the dawn — and in a new teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth season, that appears to be true as the Dowager Countess gives Mary a pep talk about continuing on. “You have a straightforward choice before you,” she declares. “You must choose either death, or life.”
Matthew may be gone, but romance continues in the castle as the new clips show Anna and Bates together, as well as Edith kissing her married editor. With...

Mrs Patmore struggles with an electric whisk in Downton Abbey’s season four opener…
This review contains spoilers.
The nights are closing in, which makes it time for the gates to Downton Abbey’s theme park of escapist wealth, posh frocks and Maggie Smith doing all the good bits to squeak ceremonially open and admit us twenty-first century oiks. ‘Look, a tiny spoon just for hazelnuts! How darling’ we gasp. ‘And look! Unjust social divisions, casual racism and a patriarchy that keeps women in check.’ Isn’t it elegant.
Unlike its series three counterpart, which had a glossy wedding and Shirley Maclaine to recommend it, this opening episode is a bleak affair. The Abbey is still mourning Cousin Matthew’s shock death from the Christmas misery special (“I can’t believe it’s time for the stone already” the Dowager Countess told Mr Molesley at the graveside.

Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, went grocery shopping in Ojai, CA, yesterday after attending Jimmy Kimmel's star-studded wedding on Saturday. The couple met up with friends Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner at the bash and also mingled with Jennifer Aniston and Johnny Knoxville. Matt and Luciana were also witnesses to Gabourey Sidibe's big prank on Jimmy, where she arrived at the venue wearing a wedding dress, complete with a long veil and train. Matt may be taking it easy as he gears up for the big press push for his newest film, Elysium, which hits theaters on Aug. 9.

1. Leah's 'I Will Survive'
It's an obvious pick, but it's obvious for a reason. Leah McFall's first live show performance took The Voice to the top end of the charts for the first time, overcoming the show's credibility issues with her breathtaking and unique vocals.
2. Mike's audition
Because The Voice UK refuses to show rubbish singers, the Blind Audition twist rarely shocks viewers. If a singer doesn't look conventional or is overweight, we're never surprised when they turn out to have angelic vocals. But Mike Ward was different. It wasn't that we didn't think he'd be able to sing. We just didn't think he'd be able to sing like that. His lush country tones provided the biggest shock of the series.
3. Cleo's exit

We've been dying to get our hands on these "Vampire Diaries" senior prom photos -- and now we can finally exclusively reveal them to all the fans! The highly anticipated prom episode, "Pictures of You," will air Thursday, April 18 at 8 p.m. -- and judging from these pics, it's the biggest Mystic Falls event we've seen yet.
First of all, Elena -- who chooses a dress that matches the new hot-pink highlights in her hair -- finds herself caught between Stefan and Damon once again. We're just glad Damon agreed to go to the dance in the first place... after all, he is just a few years past his high school days.
Meanwhile, it seems that Rebekah is feeling a little glum as she slumps at a table. Perhaps she's not exactly the object of Stefan's affection that night? (Though, in that sunny yellow dress, we can't imagine why he...

Let's unfortunately get this out of the way: NBC is yet to pick Parenthood up for a fifth season.
But assuming this does take place, most of the time spent last night at the show's Paleyfest panel was focused what storylines and developments fans can expect to see from the Bravermans this fall.
"There will be a time jump, like in real-time or somewhat close to that," producer Jason Katims told the crowd of what he has in mind.
He also made it clear that he hopes to have Matt Lauria return as Ryan, schedule permitting: "I absolutely loved the dynamic between [Amber and Ryan] and I would love to continue that storyline... [But] Matt may or may not be available next year, so we’ll have to see what happens.”
Looking back a bit on Parenthood Season 4, Lauren Graham surprised some attendees by saying Sarah didn't end up with Hank in the finale.

Will "Parenthood" be renewed for Season 5? At the NBC series' PaleyFest panel on March 7, creator Jason Katims told HuffPost TV that he feels "really optimistic" that the Braverman clan will return -- and judging by the packed auditorium at Los Angeles' Saban Theatre, the show's fans are as loyal and vocal as ever.
"Everybody at the network has been so positive about the show and I think that they are fans of the show themselves and they really, creatively, loved the direction it went this year, so that’s really good," Katims said on the Paley red carpet. "I also know that the ratings are not what anybody would dream for them to be, but they’re definitely moving in the right direction for us and for the network. We’re pretty happy there too. So I’m hopeful."

Matthew may be out of the picture, but Lady Mary won't be alone for long.
According to The Telegraph, two aristocrats will be visiting Downton in the beginning of Season 4. And as to be expected, they're not courting Edith.
Lady Mary's (Michelle Dockery) suitors will reportedly be played by actors Tom Cullen and Julian Ovenden, with both competing to help the mourning Mary to raise her newborn son.
The search for Lady Mary's new love interest hasn't been an easy one, though. Last month, the Daily Mail reported that Matthew's shoes were difficult ones to fill.
"Some were too dark, some too blond, some too bland -- though a couple have been put on a shortlist that the producers and creative people will discuss," a source said. "The main criteria for him is that he should be posh -- and pretty."

Plus, Stefan forms a surprising new alliance! Things may never be the same in Mystic Falls.
If you see any typos in this recap, blame it on me doing my happy dance, celebrating the triumphant return of Rebekah (Claire Holt) to The Vampire Diaries. Not only did she have me Lol-ing through the entire Jan. 17 episode, but she also forced Elena (Nina Dobrev) to tell Stefan (Paul Wesley) how she really feels about Damon (Ian Somerhalder). It was awkward, and it was dark and it was phenomenal.
Her plan was simple, yet brilliant: Trap everyone in Mystic Falls High and compel them to bring her up to speed. She now knows all about the cure, the sire bond and the #Delena sex — and she decided to have a little fun with her newly acquired knowledge.

If you see any typos in this recap, blame it on me doing my happy dance, celebrating the triumphant return of Rebekah (Claire Holt) to The Vampire Diaries. Matt may still want to be friends with vampires like Elena, Stefan and even Damon, but he's not feeling charitable towards all vampires in next week's episode of The Vampire Diaries. In fact, there's one particular vamp who is on the outs with him: Rebekah.
In the upcoming episode, both Elena and Rebekah head back to school. Rebekah decides to approach Matt to apologize for running him off the bridge (because nearly killing a guy is so easily forgivable). She even invites him to a party, but when he completely ignores her, she tries to explain her murder attempt. Matt's far from interested and we can't say we blame him.
Elsewhere, Connor continues his pursuit of the vampires in Mystic Falls which also leads to a confrontation between him and Matt when he realizes that a vamp has been snacking down on the high school senior (watch a preview). Poor Matt,...

Matt Damon pushed his youngest daughters, Gia and Stella, through NYC yesterday, while his older kids, Alexia and Isabella, strolled next to Luciana. The family of six visited a local park where Gia and Stella hung out on the swings with Matt. Despite having recently purchased a new multimillion dollar home on the West Coast, the Damons appear to be enjoying the Fall in Manhattan. The girls are back in school while Matt's been lending his support to local charities. He showed off his culinary skills last week at a fundraising event for the Family Reach Foundation, which raises money for individuals suffering from cancer. Matt may be hanging out on the East Coast, but he's creating buzz in Hollywood with his latest project. It's been over a decade since Matt teamed up with his Good Will Hunting director, Gus Van Sant, but the two are giving it another shot...

The Tiff fun didn't stop after the Argo red carpet in Canada yesterday as stars gathered to celebrate the film at a postpremiere bash. Ben Affleck, who stars in and directed the movie, had wife Jennifer Garner by his side, but she wasn't the only show of support. Their pals Matt and Luciana Damon as well as Emily Blunt and John Krasinski gathered for the big night after Emily and John attended a screening of Looper on Thursday. Matt may have been up North, but he also lent his famous face to the Stand Up to Cancer telethon with a prerecorded message that played during the event back in La. Jennifer's good friend and one of the stars of Argo, Victor Garber, was also on hand, as was Nina Dobrev. There's been lots of excitement at the Toronto Film Festival already, and there's still more to come as we bring...

Kate Hudson stopped off for lunch with friends at Sugarfish in Brentwood, CA, on Friday. Kate was without her boys Bing Bellamy and Ryder Robinson on the outing, though the trio did travel together earlier in the week. The first clip of Kate Hudson on Glee came out this week, showing that the hot mom has some equally sexy dance moves up her sleeve. Glee isn't the only important musical release in her future - Kate's fiancé Matthew Bellamy's band Muse has an album coming out in October. Kate and Matt may not have duets in their future, but baby Bing apparently will make an appearance on the record. "Strange Sex" (Sun., 10 p.m. Et on TLC) has certainly featured some unusual sexual fetishes and fantasies in its time on the air. But Matt may have on of the most unique seen yet. His fantasy involves gigantic women. Specifically, those of the "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" variety.
"The best part of the crush for me is the antciipation of slowly looking down and coming down on you," Matt explained. "Not necessarily the final splat."
Fantasizing about the splat would probably be a whole different fetish. But Matt's fascination with giantesses certainly got the attention of viewers, who went online to talk about it. Most agreed that while they'd never heard of this particular fetish, they may well be ready to call it the weirdest fetish ever.

Nicole Kidman chose a black-and-white checkered dress for her latest Cannes Film Festival look. She stepped out this morning for a photocall with Hemingway & Gellhorn costar Clive Owen after also promoting The Paperboy. Nicole, Zac Efron, and Matthew McConaughey made multiple stops for their project, including the red-carpet premiere and an appearance on Le Grand Journal. Nicole will be back in the spotlight later today when Hemingway & Gellhorn screens at the Grand Palais. Matthew will also return to the festival's famous carpet for Mud, which also stars Reese Witherspoon. Reese arrived in the South of France with her husband, Jim Toth, just yesterday and we can't wait to see the glamorous looks she chooses for her many events. Nicole, Reese, Zac, and Matthew may all be friendly at the festival, but they're in direct competition for the top spot in the PopSugar 100. Make sure to play the PopSugar 100 faceoff game...

Matthew and Camila hit the red carpet at SXSW to premiere Bernie on Wednesday and Matthew also participated in a press event for Killer Joe last week. Hey, "Vampire Diaries" fans -- did you know that our favorite busboy-next-door, Matt Donovan, is a trained ballroom dancer?
Well, sort of. We chatted with Zach Roerig last week and he revealed that to prepare for Thursday's glamorous ball episode, the cast took formal dancing lessons.
When we ask him when Matt would've had time to brush up on his waltzing skills, Zach scoffs.
"Matt Donovan is a jack of many trades!" he laughs. "Do you know how many books Matt reads? What else is he doing with his time? The only reason Matt is so polite - he's never had a father figure, no one to lead by example - so the way I see it, Matt obviously has read Emily Post's Guide to Etiquette. He hangs out in the break room at the Grill and teaches himself to dance. Clearly."

Is this the soapiest "Downton Abbey" has gotten so far? What's next, an evil twin?
Upstairs
The big story this week is that a badly-burned officer going by the name Patrick Gordon is claiming to be Patrick Crawley. His story is that he was rescued from the waters after the Titanic sank and was taken to Canada, but didn't remember who he was until an explosion during the war. He woke up and remembered he was Patrick Crawley.
Naturally, Lady Edith believes him (because she really wants to) and Lady Mary says no way. Robert is suspicious and has his lawyer look into it. It is discovered that a friend of Patrick's named Peter Gordon emigrated to Canada and could be faking it now that he's disfigured from the burns. But before any decisions can be made, Patrick/Peter leaves Downton. Lady Edith is heartbroken.

The Vampire Diaries 3.11 "Our Town" Review
The Vampire Diaries celebrates Caroline's (Candice Accola) 18th birthday so that's a time to be cheerful right? It would seem not, especially as this is the first birthday for Miss Forbes since she has become a vampire and this excellent episode explores letting go of the old and embracing the new. This sounds pretty simple but obstacles such as a power play between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) makes this both dangerous and complicated.
Stefan is ready to make his move against Klaus and wants to see if his theory about the importance of the coffins is correct by calling Klaus' bluff. This is a dangerous, ballsy and perhaps stupidly crazy move that Stefan is set upon doing, with or without Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) consent. The aim of the game here is to get the hybrid army out of town and...

The Mystic fallen are going back to school on this week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries"... but not for Alaric -- er, Mr. Saltzman's history class.
It's senior prank night for the Mystic Falls High Timberwolves! Sounds like fun, right? Wrong. When Klaus discovers that Stefan has been keeping a secret from him - an Elena-shaped secret - he, understandably, questions Stefan's loyalty. Up until this point, Klaus hasn't had to compel Stefan, but by the looks of it, a little vampire mind-control is now in order.
All of the incoming seniors are trapped in the school with Klaus... and all of his wrath. With Damon gone, Bonnie may be their only hope for help. Klaus can't kill Elena until a few other things have been taken care of -- and, you know, because she's the star of the show.

The CW has just shared 9 new stills from The Vampire Diaries Season 3 Premiere, “The Birthday.” Elena (Nina Dobrev) is turning 18. But, all eyes will be on the unholy Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) alliance after the Season 2 cliffhanger. What have these two been up to since leaving Mystic Falls? Also, we’ve got some very interesting photos of Tyler (Michael Trevino), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig)! The love triangle is heating up, but Matt may have slipped up one too many times in season 2. He gave Tyler just enough room to creep in while he was having human-vampire dating doubts. Thankfully, Alaric (Matt Davis) is still in the circle after we lost Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning). Alaric is pictured below with vampire fav Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Is anyone still sad about Jenna’s death? It needed to happen so that Elena’s story could progress beyond...

Matt Damon smiled big as he left a Prince concert in La on Saturday night. He's the latest celebrity to check out the musician's show after Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem stepped on stage with Prince earlier this month. Matt's fresh off a busy few weeks that have included celebrating Jennifer Garner's birthday and taking a trip to Disneyland with his wife, Luciana, and their daughters. He's still out on the West Coast away from his NYC home base despite wrapping up work on We Bought a Zoo and Contagion. It looks like Matt may have even more free time in his schedule since he won't star in the next installment of the Bourne franchise - Jeremy Renner will take over in The Bourne Legacy following Matt's run in the first three films. Christina Aguilera Goes On A Visit To Her New Guy’s Hometown — But Refuses To Stay In His Apartment!
Things are getting serious between Christina Aguilera and her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler! On a trip to visit his parents, Christina refused to slum it in his hometown.
Instead of staying at beau Matthew Rutler‘s old two-floor apartment, Christina Aguilera rented out the nicest suite at the luxurious Hyatt Regency in Newport, Rhode Island. On a recent hometown visit to meet the parents, Christina made sure the whole trip was a VIP experience.
“I was told it was because she needed room service 24-7,” a friend of Matt’s told Life & Style Magazine about the star’s luxe living conditions. “And I know that when they left town, they flew out on her private jet.”
Even when the couple went for a drink at the quiet Fastnet Pub, Christina made sure her driver kept the Suburban running outside the whole time. While Matt may be loving living the life of luxury,...

In case you're unfamiliar with our well-documented crush on "The Vampire Diaries" resident normal teenager, Matt Donovan, consider this your disclaimer: We. Love. Matt. To a degree that is generally inexplicable and often embarrassing.
When Zap2it caught up with our friend Zach Roerig on set, we had to give him his due credit for a fantastic performance in "The House Guest," where he not only made us swoon with an undeniably epic romantic moment, but also had a very convincing meltdown after Caroline (Candice Accola) told Matt the truth about the vampires.
"Candice really helped me with that," Zach says. "I mean, they let me have one of those moments again. The kiss on the stage was kind of like the kiss in the headlights Season 1. I definitely like to milk those moments, especially with Candice."
Matt's level five freak-out was a more difficult day of work for Zach.
