Her film career was congested because of the outbreak of World War II and she appeared especially at theaters in the next years where she was successful both as an actress and as a singer.
As a dancer in Vienna she was in the limelight for the first time, later followed appearances at the Kabarett der Komiker in Berlin.
The actress Herta Mayen came already into contact with the performing arts in her childhood and took ballet and singing lessons.
After her marriage she moved to Buenos Aires temporarily where she continued her career at the Deutsche Bühne. Finally she returned to Vienna and acted most of the time at the Löwinger-Bühne.
