Harare, July 23 (Ians) The Cape Town Samp Army ended the second day of the inaugural Zim Afro T10 on top of the points table, after they eased past the Bulawayo Braves by 8 wickets and with more than 3 overs to spare, here.
The Samp Army, who played two games on the Saturday, won both in style, with the young Tadiwanashe Marumani starring in the second game.
Opting to bat first, the Bulawayo Braves got off to an excellent start with the duo of Ben McDermott and Kobe Herft getting out of the blocks very quickly. The openers were scoring at a good rate and giving the Cape Town Samp Army bowlers a fair bit to think about.

Harare, July 22 (Ians) Joburg Buffaloes opened their campaign at the inaugural edition of the Zim Afro T10 with a thumping win as captain Mohammad Hafeez picked six wickets to derail the Bulawayo Braves, here.
The Buffaloes won the contest by 10 runs in what was a tightly fought contest.
Batting first, the Joburg Buffaloes lost wickets at regular intervals from the initial stages. Will Smeed (4), skipper Mohammad Hafeez (1), Ravi Bopara (1) and Delano Potgieter (0) were all back in the hut within the first three overs, with Taskin Ahmed picking three of the first four wickets.
Tom Banton at the other end was fighting on and scored a brisk 34 from 18 deliveries, having hammered four boundaries and two sixes. Banton along with Mushfiqur Rahim put on a 36-run stand to steady the ship before Banton was dismissed.
Rahim battled along after that even as the likes of Wessly Madhevere (5) and Wellington Masakadza (9) departed after looking good.

Harare, June 26 (Ians) Ahead of the upcoming Zim Afro T10 player draft on July 2, the five franchises of the league have announced their pre-draft marquee players including Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Eoin Morgan and others.
The Zim Afro T10, organised by Zimbabwe Cricket, in association with T Ten Global Sports, will see five teams — Harare Hurricanes, Joburg Buffaloes, Durban Qalandars, Bulawayo Braves and Cape Town Samp Army — battle it out for top honours.
The inaugural edition of the league will commence on July 20, with a grand finale scheduled for July 29. All the games in the tournament will be played in Harare.

Sydney, June 16 (Ians) Seven Australian cricket stars, including Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and David Warner, pulled out of their national team's upcoming limited-overs tours of the West Indies and Bangladesh as Cricket Australia (CA) announced an 18-member squad on Wednesday.
Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson have confirmed their withdrawal from the upcoming tours, days after CA expanded its preliminary squad by six players to 29.
"We are naturally disappointed not to have all players available for the Australian team at this time however the Nsp (National Selection Panel) respects the decisions of those who have opted out of this tour," head selector Trevor Hohns said in a statement.

Melbourne, Jan 27 (Ians) Wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade has been excluded from Australia Test squad for the South Africa tour and has been replaced by Alex Carey for the three-match series. Wade will, instead, travel with the T20I side to New Zealand for the five-match series with Australia playing two tours at the same time.
The Australia squad is slated to leave for New Zealand on February 7 while the South Africa tour "remains subject to satisfactory bio-security arrangements".
