American Greed is back for an all-new season and kick-starts with the case of a deadly gold digger who got away with murder for over a decade. Nanette Johnston had been with her wealthy 55-year-old boyfriend William McLaughlin for four years when he was murdered in his own home. She immediately became a prime suspect along with her lover, 28-year-old professional football player Eric Naposki. She stood to benefit from McLaughlin’s $1million life insurance and possibly the rest of his estate as well. However, although the police questioned them both at the time there was insufficient evidence to arrest them. It was not until...read more...

He won the Peabody Award last year for his uplifting 60 Minutes segment about an improbable orchestra in the heart of the Congo, broadcast on Easter Sunday 2012. It also won an Emmy, one of eight he earned during his career. Born in in Doylestown, Pa, Taylor spent nearly 20 years at CBS News, the last four at 60 Minutes. He held a variety of producing jobs in the news division, rising to Senior Producer for The Early Show in the late 1990s. On "Snapped" (Sun., 9 p.m. Et on Oxygen) Sunday night viewers were taken inside the 1994 murder of Orange County millionaire Bill McLaughlin.
Did McLaughlin's much younger girlfriend, Nanette Johnson, hire her secret lover to kill him?
Although Johnson's laywer described her as a gold-digger who routinely stole money from McLaughlin, there never seemed to be enough evidence to tie her to the case.
In 2011 her lover, NFL player Eric Naposki, was finally convicted of McLaughlin's murder, and Johnson was convicted a year later. (She plans to appeal.)
Johnson's lawyer said she was a hard sell for the jury: "When you have to go in admitting that your client is not a good person starting off," he explained, "it makes it a lot easier for a jury to just make that extra little step to say look, it doesn’t take much to change from a thief to a killer."
"Snapped" airs Sundays at 9 p.

Formerly of the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, convicted murderer Eric Naposki will appear on this Tuesday's May 29 edition of CBS's "48 Hours Mystery" to amend his story. Over the course of the summer, CBS is returning to some of the cases explored in previous episodes of "48 Hour Mystery" for updated editions.
Naposki first appeared on the news show in October of 2011, shortly after he was convicted of murdering Bill McLaughlin, a multimillionaire whose fiance, Nanette Johnston, was having an affair with Naposki.
Recently, Naposki asked correspondent Troy Roberts to return to the prison for another shocking revelation about Naposki's connection to McLaughlin, whose bullet-ridden body was found in his own kitchen in December 1994.
In the update to "Murder In The O.C.," CBS says that Naposki has vowed to reveal the name of the real killer. "I am exposing myself. I am exposing my family," he says. "I'm exposing my children to harm.

Featuring Demetri Kallas, Lynn Lowry,Manoush, Ron “Necro” Braunstein, Ruby Larocca, Raine Brown, Brandon Slagle, William McLaughlin
At some point in our lives, all of us are expected to brave the terror of falling out of the nest and trying to fly on our own.
For some of us, that means college; for others, immediate employment or attempting to get it. But regardless of future plans or goals, it usually involves scrounging together rent money and curb-diving for couches that don't smell like urine, and we wind up living in shady apartment buildings. Add to that the real estate market of New York City, where for a few thousand dollars a month you can live in a shoe box (parking space fees not included), and you've got the general feeling of despair and hopelessness that permeates The Super.

Here at Fangoria, horror runs in our blood, and sometimes in our families. Case in point: Brian Weaver, nephew of longtime magazine contributor Tom Weaver, recently completed his first feature, The Turnpike Killer. Along with co-writer/director Evan Makrogiannis (the two are teamed under the Hallows Eve Films banner), Weaver has finished a new edit of the movie, which will be shown this Sunday, June 28 (doors open at 7:30 p.m.) at Queens, NY’s Hell Gate Social (12-21 Astoria Boulevard between 12th and 14th Streets). Weaver also gave us a first look at the latest poster, which you can see below.
A bloodsoaked journey into the mind of a deranged killer (Bill McLaughlin) who stalks the New York/New Jersey area, The Turnpike Killer has already screened at the Weekend of Fear Festival in Germany, where it nabbed the Best Horror/Thriller prize.
