In the opening minutes of DC Down, Washington DC is hit by an earthquake that, among other things, causes the roof of The White House to collapse trapping President Powell and Vice President Jameson inside.
Lance Cushing a former combat engineer and search and rescue expert is called in to help get them out. He brings his fiance Katherine who is a seismologist along. It’s a good thing he did because it looks like there’s going to be some massive aftershocks, but her so far unproven “Dispersal Theory” might be able to protect what’s left of The White House from them. Meanwhile, Speaker of the House Wilder has been sworn in as acting President, and a militia group, The Virginia Lookout, led by Beck are heading to DC.

"That's a chance I'm willing to take." Available to watch on Tubi already is an action western rip-off spoof movie called Butch Cassidy & The Wild Bunch, from the Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante. One of The Asylum's latest offerings, this western combines the title of tow different classics - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and The Wild Bunch (1969). When Butch Cassidy and his colorful band of outlaws commit a series of high-profile heists, including a train robbery, a posse of newly-hired guns and seasoned killers working for the Pinkerton Detective Agency are tasked with taking down Cassidy and his rowdy gang. Starring Ross Jirgl, Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Dern, Jilon VanOver, Nikki Leigh, Dee Wallace, Geoff Meed, Alex Knight, and Megan Hensley. Yeah this looks as bad as you're expecting, maybe even worse, but that's exactly what The Asylum is going for every time. How trashy can they make it?...

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
We’re into the thick of it now, aren’t we? Ten entries into the so-called Amityville franchise and it’s all cheap IP cash-grabs from here on out.
I’m hopeful that some of these films will lean into the utter ridiculousness that has been a hallmark of the best entries thus far, particularly given the inevitable decline in budget. Let’s not kid ourselves: many of the films from here on out are going to be dodgy, but that’s half the fun, right?
What’s exciting about this Amityville IP editorial series is examining how each film puts its own unique stamp on the same general premise. For The Amityville Haunting, the first new film in six years, that unique stamp is found footage.

The Asylum — the independent film and TV studio known for its Sharknado franchise and zombie series Z Nation — celebrated its 25th anniversary with a bash on the Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday night.
But instead of helping blow out the candles, revelers were forced to deal with blown fuses as the Pier suffered a power outage for close to 15 minutes. When The Hollywood Reporter arrived on the scene at 9:30 p.m., the entire Pier was pitch black while hundreds of guests remained in place at the event, which took over Pacific Park, the oceanside amusement park.
Guests were still allowed to check-in to the event as security suggested the outage would be temporary. And they were right. Shortly before 9:40 p.m., the lights came back on and guests like Bai Ling, Kristanna Loken, Geoff Meed, Cindy Busby, Carlos Ramirez, Terry Woodberry,...

Thursday is D-Day, the 75th anniversary of the day when Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, to fight the Nazis in World War II. To commemorate the memory of those lost there, Cinedigm is releasing a feature film with a handful of actors who know a thing or two about fighting.
“D-Day” stars Mma fighters Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture (Couture is also a former U.S. Army Sergeant) alongside Weston Cage Coppola (Nicolas Cage’s son) and Jesse Kove in their action-heavy take on the Battle of Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944.
“These beaches are vital to winning this war. Thousands of lives depend on it,” Liddell says in the trailer.

*there are spoilers here. Director: Jared Cohn. Writers: Geoff Meed and Kenny Zinn. Cast: Katrina Bowden, Randy Wayne, Erin Marie Hogan, Steve Hanks, Brad Slaughter, Seth Cassell, Darin Cooper, Jordan Pratt-Thatcher and Lisa Younger. Hold Your Breath, or for those in the Twitterverse #HoldYourBreath, is remarkable for being one of the first films to premiere in theatres from production company The Asylum. As a horror film, Hold Your Breath is not truly remarkable in itself. However, the film is still a fun watch, despite some moronic characters. Is having sex in a morgue really a good idea? The film's ending stands out for offering some interesting suspense, while the film's supernatural rules ground the film in a dramatic reality. Hold Your Breath is a popcorn movie that will entertain most horror fans. The story begins with seven characters heading out on the proverbial camping trip. Johnny (Randy Wayne), Jerry (Katrina Bowden...

30 Rock’s brilliant Katrina Bowden has been using her off-seasons in recent years brilliantly, starring in instant-cult-classic horror-comedy Tucker and Dale vs. Evil back in 2010 alongside Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine.
She was seen earlier this year in Piranha 3Dd, and has two more horror films on the horizon – Nurse 3-D and #HoldYourBreath. The first trailer for the second has now debuted over at Apple, giving us a good look at Bowden in the lead as part of the horror ensemble.
“Based on the urban myth that you can breathe in evil spirits when passing cemeteries, #Holdyourbreath follows seven friends embarking on a weekend camping trip who pass a run-down cemetery and find themselves arguing about the legitimacy of the urban myth. When one friend refuses to hold his breath while passing by, he finds himself the unwitting host to a notorious serial killer who jumps from body to body...

The Asylum has yet to officially release any materials for their its first ever theatrical release, the supernatural horror slasher entitled #HoldYourBreath, but a photo of the artwork just appeared out of thin air on Facebook.
My question from looking at it is: “How is Katrina Bowden supposed to hold her breath with that hand in her mouth?”
#HoldYourBreath – that is the actual title, thus making it quite possibly the first film in the history of cinema in which the title also doubles for the marketing strategy – stars Katrina Bowden of “30 Rock” and Piranha 3Dd and Randy Wayne of “The Lying Game” in this frightful tale of a carload of college kids terrorized by the body-jumping spirit of an executed serial killer after they fail to abide by an old wives’ tale that strongly suggests one hold their breath when passing a cemetery lest you risk allowing an evil spirit to enter you.

I’m sure most diehard fans of horror are familiar with The Asylum Production Company: they are after all responsible for some of the most outrageous, cheesy, and unintentionally films to hit the tube. Need a refresher on some of their… unique offerings? How about flicks like Mega Piranha and Two-Headed Shark Attack, just for starters? #Holdyourbreath was directed by Jared Cohn who works from a script crafted by Geoff Meed. Katrina Bowden (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil), Randy Wayne (Ghost Town), Erin Marie Hogan (Paranormal Entity), Devanny Pinn (VIViD) and Gerald Webb (Zombie Apocalypse) star.

The shoot on the latest horror project from studio The Asylum has kicked off. Yep, cameras for Jared Cohn's 'Don't Hold Your Breath' have begun rolling in Los Angeles and the lensing is made all that more sweeter by the on camera presence of sexy '30 Rock' hottie Katrina Bowden (below). The movie follows a group of college kids who become possessed whilst driving past a cemetery by the spirit of an executed serial killer. Randy Wayne and Gerald Webb co-star in the Geoff Meed penned feature. Bowden has been popping up in a stream of genre projects recently including horror-comedy 'Tucker and Dale vs. Evil', erotic thriller 'Nurse 3-D' and in skinny-dipping action in tongue-in-cheek horror follow-up 'Piranha 3Dd'. 'Don't Hold Your Breath' is set for a limited theatrical release with a quick following DVD and VOD release...

If someone were to ask you if The Asylum was ever going to make a theatrically released film, you’d probably respond, “Don’t hold your breath!” Turns out Don’t Hold Your Breath will be the title of their first ever big screen bound slasher flick starring “30 Rock” beauty Katrina Bowden.
You would expect with The Asylum building a reputation producing mockbusters and outlandish “mega” movies that their first foray in big screen moviemaking would be cut from that cloth. And you would be wrong. Don’t Hold Your Breath is an original horror flick in the vein of Shocker, The Horror Show, and Fallen.

Film studio 'The Asylum' will be releasing the direct to DVD release of their new found footage project 'The Amityville Haunting' just in time for Christmas. It's exactly the family friendly treat you can enjoy over the seasonal period. Set around the infamous house, in which several murders too place which were all carried out under some supposed paranormal phenomena, this new take on the legend features a new family (the Bensons) who briefly rent the house on Long Island, New York and have since disappeared. Jon Kondelik and Luke Barnett star in this the first helmed feature from Geoff Meed ('Resident Evil: Extinction'). 'The Amityville Haunting' arrives on 13 December. It looks like Asylum beat Dimension Films to the punch and will be releasing the first found footage film on the well known Amityville story. The Amityville Haunting by Asylum is a found footage film and is directed by Geoff Meed, the film, according to Asylum, concerns "actual found footage that documents the horrifying experience of a family that moved into the infamous haunted house. Dimension's film The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes is also a found footage film and is still in production and currently does not have a release date. The Amityville Haunting will be released straight to DVD on December 27, 2011.

The Asylum has come a long way over the years. Its movies have gone from mind-numbingly horrible to watchable to fun. Which camp will The Amityville Haunting most likely fall into? It's kind of hard to predict. Watch the trailer and judge for yourself.
Directed by Geoff Meed and starring Jon Kondelik and Luke Barnett, look for Amityville Haunting on DVD December 13th. In the interim let's all say a little prayer for Foy's sanity, shall we?
The plot is pretty straightforward and simple, but does it really need to be anything other than that?

When the "found footage" angle resurfaced in the horror scene, it was only a matter of time before someone applied it to the Amityville Horror. Then, Dimension Films announced The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes , a "found footage" thriller that was supposed to open in January 2012 before it was pushed. Hey, look! Amityville news! We haven't had much of that lately! This latest bit is for the Geoff Meed directed cinéma vérité style flick, Amityville Haunting. The first casting news is in. Read on for details.
From the Press Release
Luke Barnett (pictured right) has joined the cast of "Amityville Haunting", the latest of the three Amityville-based films currently in development.
Producers are keeping the story under wraps, but we have gotten word that this will be a "found footage" film based on the Benson murders from the early 80's. Production is currently under way in Los Angeles.
Editor's Note
Director Geoff Meed wrote in to let us know that although the characters' names are similar to the Benson murders (which was optioned by the original Amityville filmmakers back in 1986), there is No relation to the actual people or events in his upcoming film. Confusing? Yeah, just a little.

There’s three Amityville films in various states of production already in Amityville: The Legacy 3D (here), a new documentary which will “set the record straight”, and The Amityville Tapes (here), a direct sequel from Dimension Films. And now Bloody-Disgusting is reporting there’s a fourth one coming, called Amityville Haunting. The film is already in the casting stages.
The Amityville Haunting is being directed by actor-turned-director Geoff Meed, who is using the found footage angle to tell of a new family who moves into the infamous house. The plot is using the real life true crime of Benson family of Naples, where Steven Benson was accused of the pipe-bomb murders of his mother and brother. You can read more about this real-life story here on Wiki, but there’s no indication of how Meed will use this for an Amityville film.

Film Regions International is working on My Amityville Horror, Eric Walter's documentary about the infamous Amityville Murders that will set the record straight with the help of Daniel Lutz, the eldest son of George and Kathleen Lutz. And then there's Amityville: The Legacy 3D,...

Director: Griff Furst.
Writer: Richard Matheson and Geoff Meed.
You know you are cheap when you find yourself rooting around bargain bins for the best horror deals. Sometimes, this characteristic pays off and that is the case with The Midnight Horror Collection: Flesh Eating Zombies. This late 2010 release offers four features for under ten dollars. Included in this film anthology are Grave Mistake, Awaken the Dead, Last of the Living and the film reviewed here, I Am Omega. Echo Bridge Entertainment re-released each of these films for fans of the undead on celluloid August, 2010.
I Am Omega is one of The Asylum's mockbusters, which attempted to capitalize on the looming success of I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. Both films were released within a month of each other and this film is another action film based on Richard Matheson's novel, I Am Legend. Like an '80s action throwback,...

Airline Disaster DVD ArtDirected by: John J. Willis III.
Writter: Paul Sinor and Victoria Dadi.
Airline Disaster is one of The Asylum's latest releases and this production company is mostly known for its campier versions of Transformers or the Terminator (Transmorphers and The Terminators). They also have several sexier films. However, The Asylum leaves the camp behind in Airline Disaster and some of the sexiness with Lindsey McKeon only getting minimal scenes. Simply put, this film is an action packed ride through a terrorist ordeal with the camp of previous films replaced by some cheesiness in CGI effects and tense drama.
In short, several Neo-Nazi hijackers take over the Starquest, a state of the art, automatically flown airplane. These terrorists want ten of their friends released from the New Jersey State Penitentiary, or else the plane's captain and brother of the the President of the United States is going to be murdered.
