Scott Calvin's reign on The Santa Clauses may not be ending as planned.
Disney+ made a shocking announcement this week:
The Santa Clauses will return for Season 2!
“This franchise has had a lasting impact for so many families, truly becoming part of their annual holiday traditions,” Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said in a statement.
“Bringing it back as a series has been a true gift, and I’m grateful to our producing partners at 20th Television and, of course, Tim Allen and team, that we have yet another reason to celebrate this holiday season.”
The news is somewhat surprising. Before the series was even picked up, reports stated it would be a limited series revival that would seemingly bring Tim Allen's alter ego full circle.
Now, it sounds like there will be plenty of Scott and his family on the agenda because we're getting a full-fledged second season.

On the heels of its Season 1 finale, Disney+ has announced a Season 2 renewal for The Santa Clauses, with Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell set to reprise their roles as Mr. and Mrs. Clause.
In Season 1, Scott Calvin (Allen) returns after being Santa Claus for nearly thirty years, and he’s as jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic. Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family. Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband.
Allen also executive produces the series alongside Jack Burditt, who serves as showrunner. Kevin Hench, Richard Baker and Rick Messina will serve as executive producers along with Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.

Fox has renewed the hit family comedy Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen, for the 2019-2020 season, it was announced today by Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment for Fox Entertainment. The series’ return marks its second season on Fox, and eighth in total.
“Hard to believe Last Man Standing hits 150 episodes this week and it gets better with another upcoming season at Fox!” said Allen. “Great news for all of us who are creating these stories and working our pants off to make you all laugh. It’s another big high-five to the legions of loyal fans who have faithfully kept us front and center and huge on the radar. Thanks to our family at Fox who continue to make us feel so at home. Man, if we keep this up, they might have to call our show: Last Man Unable to Stand.”

Fox wants more of Tim Allen, renewing his comedy “Last Man Standing” for a second season on the network, and its eighth overall.
The show, which Fox revived this season after it was canceled in 2017 by ABC after six seasons, airs on Friday nights. But with Fox getting the rights to the WWE’s “Smackdown Live” next fall, which is slated for Fridays, “Last Man Standing” needs a new time slot.
Fox will air the pro wrestling show beginning on Oct. 4.

Ahead of its milestone 150th episode Friday, Fox has renewed its flagship comedy Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen for the 2019-2020 season. This will be the series’ second season on Fox and eighth overall.
The renewal of Last Man’s Standing was never in doubt given its strong ratings performance in its first season on Fox, which picked up the series a year after it was canceled by ABC. Despite airing on the lower-trafficked Friday night, Last Man Standing ranks as Fox’s second most watched and third highest-rated scripted series this season in Live+7.

Exclusive: A popular recurring character from the original Last Man Standing on ABC will be making a return on the Fox revival with a twist. My Wife and Kids and Martin alumna Tisha Campbell has been tapped to recur on the Fox series as Chuck Larabee’s (Jonathan Adams) wife Carol Larabee.
The role was played by Erika Alexander during Lms‘ run on ABC. It has been recast with sitcom pro Campbell as Alexander was not available due to scheduling issues. Alexander currently recurs on two series, the CW drama Black Lightning, which films in Vancouver, and HBO comedy Insecure, which shoots in Los Angeles.
Created by Jack Burditt, Last Man Standing stars Tim Allen as Mike Baxter, a happily married father of three daughters, who finds himself the odd man out as he tries to maintain his manliness in a home dominated by women.

“Last Man Standing” is adding Molly McCook and Jet Jurgensmeyer to its sitcom cast.
McCook has landed the role of Mandy, one of Tim Allen and Nancy Travis’ on-screen daughters in the series. The role was previously played by Molly Ephraim when the series was on ABC. Ephraim opted not to reprise the role when Fox picked up the seventh season a year after ABC originally canceled it.
Jurgensmeyer replaces Flynn Morrison in the role of Boyd. Boyd is Allen’s character’s grandson, the son of his daughter Kristin (Amanda Fuller). Producers recently said they wanted to “age up” the character to about 12 years old.
McCook most recently appeared on Netflix sitcom “The Ranch,” but her other television credits include “Modern Family,” “Agents of Shield,” and “Glee.” She will also soon appear on “Good Trouble,” Freeform’s upcoming spinoff of “The Fosters.”

Wgn America has picked up the existing episodes of Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing to add to its comedy lineup. The network will begin airing reruns of the popular family sitcom beginning Monday, April 30.

Linda Rohe never envisioned herself as a talent manager while majoring in communications. But her career plans changed when she took a college job with Rick Messina, who was "a big-time East Coast comedy club booker," she says. "When he relocated to Los Angeles [to ultimately manage Drew Carey and Tim Allen], he left me his comedy club accounts. In fact, because making a living on the comedy club circuit is virtually impossible for comics today, Rohe prefers to send her comedian clients out for TV, movies, commercials, and theater productions. "There's just not enough business in standup comedy," she says. Her goal for all 18 performers on her roster is "to get them to the next level of their careers," she says. This is not just a list of things Judd has done in the past, but it's also a chronicling of his rise to power. Here is the life of a comedy nerd made good - made very, very good.

The best thing ABC's Last Man Standing has going for it is that TV Land is now producing its own shows. If this Tim Allen effort had come out a couple of years ago, I might have bet that it had no chance at all. That isn't to say that I don't like it... it's average-ish when all is said and done..., but I wouldn't have had a lot of hope for it actually getting viewers.
It has some good elements to it, and if Tim Allen has proven one thing over the years, it's that he's rather watchable. The kill of the show, in terms of predicting positive results, is that it feels like it comes straight from the glory days of Home Improvement, as though we were throwing out another venture during the early '90s, as opposed to the early '10s. It's a show that, if I had to guess,...

ABC has a slew of new shows coming, many of which need a lot of luck if they're going to last more than a handful of episodes. The schedule has been released, so let's take a lot at what's coming.
Oddly enough, as part of the new announcement, ABC has solidified the return of several more shows, including Happy Endings, despite the fact that two other networks have shows on their slate with cast members from the show. That should be interesting. Of course, it works for me, because I'm a fan.
In other news, Desperate Housewives will not die. Are you kidding me with this show still being on?

Earlier we shared ABC's primetime lineup, and now we have some clips from the new comedy series for you. The new comedies include Apartment 23, Suburgatory, Last Man Standing, Man Up, and Work It. So far I think Apartment 23 looks the best. Check out the clips below and let us know what shows you are liking the most.
Apartment 23
After a naive Midwestern girl's big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of characters. June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live.

NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.
Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.

Chicago – NBC & Fox released their schedules already this week and there are a few interesting highlights, but ABC has released easily the most aggressive and ambitious new slate of programs, which will feature at least one new program five nights a week. Overall, they’re debuting seven new programs in the Fall alone, clearly trying to cement an exciting schedule before the mid-season instead of holding back programs for 2012.

After weeks of negotiations, Tim Allen has officially come onboard ABC's comedy pilot written by Jack Burditt. The project, first known as Man Up and then renamed to The Last Day of Man, is now untitled. The multicamera show, from 20th TV and 21 Laps/Adelstein Prod., centers on a guy (Allen) fighting for his manhood in a world of women. Burditt is executive producing with Marty Adelstein, Shawn Levy, Becky Clements as well as Allen and his managers Richard Baker and Rick Messina. The project landed at ABC in November with a pilot commitment with Allen loosely attached. If it goes to series, it would mark Allen's return to primetime and to ABC where he starred in the long-running hit Home Improvement.
