- He began his acting career in 1929 with appearances in the "Katakombe" of Werner Finck and at the cabaret "Larifari", it followed tours and theater engagements.

- Hans Meyer-Hanno made his film debut after some minor roles in the middle of the 30's with bigger roles in movies like "Pechmarie" (1934). He became established as a movie actor in the following years.

- Besides the glamour world of the film Hans Meyer-Hanno was together with Beppo Römer and Alexander Graf Stenbock-Fermor alias "Der rote Graf" a committed resistance fighter in the environment of the "Rote Kapelle" in the Künstlerkolonie.
- After an education by Hilde Müller-Gerloff he began his professional career as a draftsman and stage designer. Beside it he appeared as a musician and singer with the "Tibor Blue Boys".
- There exist different versions to the circumstances of his death. Among others as a prisoner he had to take at assignment and was grouped for creating new dugouts. During such a deployment he tried to flee over a wall but was caught out and shot from behind. An other source says that Hans Meyer-Hanno refused to join the Volkssturm and was murdered in Bautzen.
- Hans Meyer-Hanno had had to pay dearly for his engagement against the National Socialism. Betrayed by an informer in the alliance "Freies Deutschland" he was arrest during his holiday on a farm in the Ostmark in July 1944. He was sentenced to prison for three years in Bautzen.
