The anime adaptation of the Delicious in Dungeon manga series, written and illustrated by Ryōko Kui premiered in January 2024 and has become one of the more popular series of the Winter 2024 line-up. This fantasy series managed to capture the hearts of fans thanks to its brilliant combination of fantasy and comedy with… well, cooking. This is not an often-used formula, so we can agree that it is definitely something unique and special, which explains why fans love it so much. Now, the anime is currently on a break but will return in April 2024 for its second cour. In light of that fact, a new trailer and visual have been released.

Oppenheimer was a massive success and a new milestone for filmmaking, from the cast and crew and everyone else who contributed during the production was a recipe for Oscar nominations, and wins but one aspect of any film or television that elevates the story is music and composer Ludwig Göransson deserved the win but upset the gaming community in the process.
Göransson also composed the score for other great films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even won an Oscar for Black Panther, he later worked on the sequel: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and scored the first two Creed films and his first project with the legendary visionary Christopher Nolan was Tenet, as well for the Star Wars series on Disney+ The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The talent he possesses is monumental, however the gaming community was offended by his recent victory speech.

While many people assumed the Tokyo Olympics 2021 opening ceremony would feature video games in some way, few suspected that the whole event would be scored by some truly incredible video game music.
Sure, it would have been easy to throw a couple of legendary video game songs into the ceremony’s soundtrack and call it a day, but the event’s organizers went one step further and found some surprising deep-dive tracks from the history of video game music. They’re all great tunes, but what’s more impressive are the ways that they so perfectly fit the energy and spirit of the Olympics.
Here’s a look (and a listen) at every video game song that was featured during the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony:

JRPGs are caught in a perpetual tug-of-war between an irrational mainstream stigma and a dedicated fanbase that’s perhaps too attached to tradition. You could ask five different gamers for their opinion of a particular Jrpg and get six different answers. So I went in to Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology with totally middle-of-the-road expectations, despite the generally positive reception to its original 2011 DS release. At first it seemed to be meeting those expectations exactly, with a straightforward battle system, passable script, and unexpected Chrono Trigger influences. But as the game’s full breadth began to unfold, it felt less like a Chrono Trigger imitator and more like a successor, which may just be the highest compliment available to the genre.
Perhaps that label applies simply because there are no other contenders for it. The universe itself seems to have declared Chrono Trigger a once-in-a-lifetime achievement – its “dream team” production squad never convened again,...

Valkyria Chronicles fans have much to rejoice as the franchise returns to the West with a Revolution...in more ways than one. Come inside to check out the first details on the upcoming title!
While I missed out on Valkyria chronicles when it initially released, I fell in love with the remastered version that launched earlier this year. So I was pretty happy to hear that Valkyria Revolution will be making it's way State-side, even though it's changing up just about everything. The timeline is different, the characters are new, and the gameplay isn't pure turn-based strategy. While strategy will still be an element this time around, they've got a new system in place that sounds really neat:

The Valkyria, the embodiment of death is returning to the battlefield in Valkyria Revolution and players will have to do - and sacrifice - whatever is necessary to seek out their vengeance.

Well here we are, the very end. It has been a pleasure to work alongside my Sos colleagues and produce this massive list of 100 titles (110, if you count special mentions), each of which reminds us why we love Nintendo so much. As I mentioned prior, we started out with about 450 games, and slowly we cut away. While no person will be 100 % satisfied with each and every pick, much less the order, I’m pretty happy with the overall results, and hopefully most of you are too. We will be dedicating all of February to Nintendo so be sure to check back all month long. In the meantime, here is our top 10! Enjoy!
*****
In celebration of the 30 years since Nintendo released the Nes here in North America, we decided to round-up the Sos troops and compile a list of the 100 greatest games published and or developed by Nintendo, and released exclusively to their consoles.

It’s sometimes mind-blowing to look back at the past and consider the versions of you which have existed thus far. One such example is a 15 year old boy who once thought RPG’s were totally lame. I mean, who wants to just tell characters what to do and watch them attack? Not me! And managing stats? Boring!
That was me, at least until I played Chrono Trigger for the first time.
Video games were well into the next generation of polygons and voice acting by the time I finally got around to Chrono Trigger at the turn of the new millennium. I was turned onto the game by a friend who was obsessed with it (rightfully so), and who could know, when I asked to borrow that little gray cartridge of his, that I would quickly become enamored with this most time-consuming of game genres?...

While we do not have any official release dates yet, we can confirm that the Ps Vita title Soul Sacrifice is headed to both European and American shores. The news comes courtesy of the Playstation Blog. Project lead, the legendary Keiji Inafune, creator of Megaman and Resident Evil was on hand to drop a few more details about the fantasy title.
What I wanted to illustrate in this game was a ‘reality blended into a fantasy world. The word ‘fantasy’ normally points to a story that is fictitious; however, with Soul Sacrifice I wanted to illustrate a ‘reality’ within a fantasy that wasn’t sugar-coated.
Cruelty is a reality in our world, and we have to make sacrifices and pay costs on a daily basis. I wanted to blend this ‘reality’ theme into a fantasy world, one filled with magic, and create a new type of gaming experience that relied...

Source: Dorkly via io9 How many of you guys remember playing Chrono Trigger? Chrono Trigger (クロノ・トリガー Kurono Torigā?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. Chrono Trigger's development team included three designers that Square dubbed the "Dream Team": Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Square's Final Fantasy series; Yuji Horii, a freelance designer and creator of Enix's popular Dragon Quest series; and Akira Toriyama, a freelance manga artist famed for his work with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball. Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game, Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring remaining tracks to Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. The game's story follows a group of adventurers who travel through time to prevent a global catastrophe. Square re-released a ported version by Tose...

Organized by Tommy Tallarico, a video game lover and music composer in the industry, Video Games Live: Level 2 is a loving tribute concert to some of the greatest and most iconic music to come out of the business. Unfortunately, not all games are created equal when it comes to musical accompaniment. Now, depending on which video games you grew up on and spent countless hours completing in the privacy of a dark room with your eyes and ears fixed on the glowing screen in front of you, you’ll have different songs ingrained in your memory as being “classic”. Video Games Live: Level 2 makes a fun little jab at the idea pointing out that the earliest gamers have less a soundtrack than they do a signature set of beeps, boops, and bloops. You don’t begrudge early games their simplistic soundscapes, but similarly you can’t deny that...
