The Hollywood Walk of Fame welcomed a new friend on Monday: Friends superstar Courteney Cox.
The 58-year-old actress, producer, director and entrepreneur was immortalized with a star at the starry event that featured loving tributes from her Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow and longtime pal Laura Dern. By the end, Cox, who was joined by boyfriend Johnny McDaid and daughter Coco, got choked up as she recalled how she never gave up on her Hollywood dreams despite running on fumes financially.
The honor comes ahead of the debut of another installment of the Scream franchise for which she reprises fan-favorite role as Gale Weathers and another season for her Starz series Shining Vale. Dern kicked off the tributes by calling Cox a friend, sister and “the most extraordinary person possible.” She detailed a trip to Disneyland when she saw first-hand the “delight and pure thrill” in people’s eyes when they recognized Cox.

Mark Ruffalo didn’t win the Best Supporting Actor trophy last night — that honor went to Christian Bale — but the Kids Are All Right star took to Twitter yesterday before the ceremony to offer an extended thank-you to his co-workers, support staff, friends and family. The 17 tweets might have earned Ruffalo some play-off music on the telecast, but in text form they’re charming, moving, and quite funny. (They also reconfirm that Mark Ruffalo is so cool, he makes you want to be a better person, just so you can be earn the ultimate reward of being reincarnated as Mark Ruffalo in your next life.

In a move that recognizes the increasing frequency with which talent moves between the film and TV worlds, WMA has reorganized its departmental operations by merging the television talent department and motion picture talent department into one unit. The management and structural changes were announced Thursday by Dave Wirtschafter, WMA worldwide head of motion pictures. While other agencies often hold joint talent meetings and have specific crossover agents, WMA is the first major agency to group its film and TV talent agents under one umbrella. Four agents -- David Lonner, Danny Greenberg, Gaby Morgerman and Erwin More -- were promoted as part of the reorganization. Lonner will join John Fogelman as co-head of WMA's motion picture department, overseeing all of its daily activities. Greenberg has been named head of the motion picture literary department, and Morgerman and More will team to oversee the combined talent department. The changes are effective immediately.
