His book, "Thoroughly Modern Millie", was adapted into a musical which was
performed at the Shaftesbury Theatre, and was nominated for a 2004 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best New Musical of 2003.
Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan both were nominated for the 2002 Tony Award (New York City) for the Author (Book) of the Musical for "Thoroughly Modern Millie".
Attended the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles for one year.
Served with the Special Services during World War II.
Studied acting under Sanford Meisner at the Neighbourhood Playhouse in Manhattan.
