In the 2022 miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen, and Ewan McGregor reunited on screen for the first time since 2005 when their iconic characters locked horns once again. The series which is part of George Lucas’ cult Star Wars franchise, is set years after the events in Revenge of the Sith, and brings the titular Jedi Master face to face with his arch nemesis Darth Vader.

Apart from many déjà vu moments from the various films, the series also brought back some memorable props, including the famous healing vessel called the bacta tank. Christensen who was required to get into this big water-filled vessel for his character, dispensed with a body double for the test run, and went through training to master the art of being underwater without the help of any breathing aids.

George Lucas Nearly Cast a Different Actor as Darth Vader Changing the Flow of the Franchise Forever
Darth Vader is undeniably one of the most iconic fictional characters, known for his menacing black suit and distinctive voice. Many other works of fiction and art make reference to the character, making it a familiar presence.
But, did you know that the role of Vader nearly went to a different actor? One who, at the time, might have been even more preferred than James Earl Jones given the circumstances?
During the late 1970s, while filming ‘A New Hope’ in London, David Prowse, who portrayed Darth Vader physically, delivered all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. However, the mask muffled his speech, necessitating dubbing in post-production. Prowse initially expected to dub his own lines, but logistical issues and concerns about his accent prompted George Lucas to seek another voice. Lucas sought a deep, distinguished voice befitting the enigmatic Darth Vader. Ultimately, James Earl Jones, then a relatively unknown actor,...

Darth Vader is without a doubt one of the most iconic fictional characters, recognized by his ominous black suit and his voice. Plenty of other works of fiction and art reference the character, and it’s one of those references we can always easily spot.
But, did you know that the iconic role almost went to a completely different actor? The one that at the time would be perhaps even favored above James Earl Jones under the circumstances?
While filming ‘A New Hope’ in London during the late 1970s, David Prowse, the actor behind Darth Vader’s physical performance, spoke all of Vader’s lines from behind the mask. However, due to the mask muffling his speech, his lines had to be dubbed over in post-production. Prowse assumed he would do the dubbing himself, but logistical and accent concerns led George Lucas to search for another voice. Lucas sought a deep,...

Willow actor and silver screen legend Warwick Davis is not holding back about Disney’s removal of the Willow series. Davis recently took to social media to break his silence about the House of Mouse pulling its Willow series from the streaming platform as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative under Disney CEO Bob Iger.
“I meet lovely people on a daily basis who are fans of #Willow, who are the reason the @DisneyPlus series was made,” Davis wrote on X (formally known as Twitter). “Please tell me @WaltDisneyCo, what do I say to these subscribers when they ask why they can’t watch the series any more? #embarrassing”

When last we saw Hayden Christensen's face in the live-action "Star Wars" movies, it was having Darth Vader's mask lowered onto it. That was in "Revenge of the Sith" back in 2005. It's been a long road to "Obi-Wan Kenobi," the upcoming Disney+ series, in which Christensen is set to make his return as Vader. However, the character also appeared in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in 2016, with James Earl Jones once again voicing him. Pro boxer Spencer Wilding embodied Vader during his early scenes in "Rogue One," while stuntman Daniel Naprous stepped in at the end for the sequence where Vader cuts...

When the credits faded to black on Revenge of the Sith, there were a lot of Star Wars fans who would have been more than happy to never see Hayden Christensen appear in the franchise again. Playing the man who would become Darth Vader came burdened with almost unbearable pressure, and while George Lucas’ woeful dialogue didn’t help his cause, there are scenes in Episodes II and III where the young actor’s work could be described as wooden at best, and positively dire at worst.
However, as Disney and Lucasfilm have made abundantly clear over the last few years, nostalgia is what powers Star Wars these days, and the opinions on Christensen’s tenure as Anakin had softened over time to the point where people would be more than happy to see him return. Now, after months of speculation, the 39 year-old has officially been confirmed for Obi-Wan Kenobi,...

The last time we saw Hayden Christensen in Star Wars, he was being clamped into Darth Vader’s armor after coming out on the losing end of his final showdown opposite Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, with his last contribution being the unintentionally hilarious ‘Noooooooo!’ that was dubbed by James Earl Jones.
Now that the actor has been confirmed for a return to a galaxy far, far away in the upcoming Disney Plus exclusive, though, it seems that the recent rumors indicating the show would feature flashbacks to The Clone Wars could be right on the money. After all, if Darth Vader was only going to appear in full costume, then they wouldn’t need Hayden at all, with stuntmen Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous suiting up for Rogue One and the infamous Sith’s vocals having always been provided by Jones’ sonorous tones.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may be crushing it at the box office, cementing itself as the second biggest film of 2016, but it’s also drawn a bit of controversy. As you’ll no doubt know by now, Disney opted to bring back Grand Moff Tarkin, which isn’t problematic in and of itself, but ended up angering some fans as instead of getting a new actor to play him, they digitally re-created the original actor, Peter Cushing, who passed away in 1994.
Tarkin wasn’t the only classic Star Wars character to return for the prequel, though, as one of cinema’s most iconic villains also made an appearance. Yes, Darth Vader was back on screen again for Rogue One and moviegoers were thrilled to see him. While the character’s voice came from James Earl Jones, who brought him to life all those years ago, it was actually...

Star Wars: Rogue One’s third act is earning a lot of love. Here’s our take on why...
We’ll be discussing major spoilers from Rogue One in this article. A lot.
Rogue One has an awful lot going for it, all the way through, starting with that unsettling opening shot before transitioning into a gritty, handheld war movie unlike anything we’ve seen in a big screen Star Wars film before. It’s a movie, it seems fair to say, that a lot of people love already. I’ve already seen it overtake Return Of The Jedi in some people’s rankings of the franchise on the whole.
But, as much as the entirety of Rogue One has plenty to enjoy, one particular section of Gareth Edwards’ Death Star-centric cinematic spinoff seems to be getting the most praise: the film’s final third. Here...

Star Wars News has spotted a Reddit post which seemingly spills the beans on all of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's surprise cameos. The person who shared the list claimed that their line of work means that the movie's credits made their way on to his desk (so, take this with a pinch of salt for now), and if it's accurate, we can expect to see a fair few familiar faces from the original trilogy in this release. Apparently, Avengers: Age of Ultron actress Ingvild Deila is going to star as a young Princess Leia, and while she's not exactly Carrie Fisher's doppelganger, it's easy to imagine her playing the character. Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous are credited with being inside Darth Vader's iconic costume (there go those rumours about Hayden Christensen returning), while British actor Guy Henry (Harry Potter) will play Governor Tarkin. Game of Thrones...
