- Pierre Nord was born in 1900 in Le Cateau-Cambrésis, Nord, France. He was a writer and actor, known for Deuxième bureau contre kommandantur (1939), The Serpent (1973) and The Amorous Corporal (1958). He died on December 10, 1985 in Monaco.
- Intelligence officer before WWII, he became one of the leaders of a resistance group while working in Vichy for the Pétain government. This episode of his life is recreated briefly in Laissez-Passer ((2002).
