Brokeback Mountain is heading to the stage for a new production.
Following the Oscar-winning movie adaptation of 2005, Annie Proulx's short story is now being turned into a play by producer Tom O'Connell.
Brokeback Mountain follows the emotional and physical relationship that develops between Ennis del Mar and Jack Twist when they are hired to look after grazing sheep in Wyoming, and the impact it has on their lives over the next 20 years.
Proulx said: "I am looking forward with sharp anticipation to the stage interpretation of the star-crossed lovers of Brokeback Mountain, who moved from the page to the screen and now, under the skilled hand of producer Tom O'Connell and the sensibilities of the company, to the stage - a strange journey for two messed-up wannabe cow-hands from Wyoming.

Nominations have been announced for the 51st annual Cinema Audio Society Awards, and as ever with this group lately, there are a few surprises. For instance, "Unbroken" made the cut despite being mostly ignored by the guilds and industry groups so far, and Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" showed up as well. The biggest jaw-dropper might just be that after months of being the poster child for sound complaints, somehow, some way, "Interstellar" ended up in the mix (no pun intended). There are always one or two that drop out, however. Last year, for example, another Marvel movie — "Iron Man 3" — was chalked up here. But it fell out in favor of "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" with the Academy. I find myself wondering if "The Battle of the Five Armies" could make the cut this year as it's even more of an action/sound film than the last.

Several of the Big Brother 2011 housemates have been laying into each other on Twitter over their actions in the outside world. Runner-up Jay Mckray alleged on the social networking site this morning (December 10) that Alex Rose had reneged on her agreement to split the £30,000 she won in the house with her fellow contestants, while Rebeckah Vaughan claimed that she had contacted police after being 'threatened' by Anton Murphy in a webcast. "Some people are so different out off bb," Mckray wrote, claiming in a later post that Rose had only shared her money with Tom O'Connell. Big Brother's Maisy James has admitted that she feels guilty over her initial feelings towards Mark Henderson. Late on Tuesday evening, Mark announced to his fellow contestants that he intends to leave the house today. Confiding in friend Tom O'Connell, aspiring TV presenter Maisy confessed: "I didn't think he was genuine. That annoys me. People make mistakes in life. I didn't mean or want to do it. "It's only been him out of everybody.... I feel like I do know [everybody else]. I just couldn't gauge him. Tom reassured Maisy not to "beat (more)...

Big Brother's Aaron Allard-Morgan and Maisy James have made up following the tension surrounding their kiss. Fellow housemates Tom O'Connell and Faye Palmer, who had feelings for Aaron, were both upset with the pair's bedroom antics. Explaining what irritated her, Maisy told Aaron: "I only got upset because I walked into a room of Harry making a joke like he usually does. And then they were like, 'Oh yeah, we're hearing noises!' Anton is supposed to be one of my closest friends here. "Then Jay was like, 'I asked Aaron if you two had sex and he just put a cover over his face. That was why I got annoyed with you." Aaron had insisted: (more)...

Big Brother contestant Aaron Allard-Morgan threatened to leave the house last night when tensions rose following his kiss with fellow housemate Maisy James. Tom O'Connell and Faye Palmer both complained that they felt "used" by the 30-year-old contract manager during a heated discussion on day 17 of the competition. Faye recalled: "The other day, [Aaron] basically said he fancied me, and he's been flirting with me and stuff, and then... last night in the bed, he went to kiss me on the neck while you were in the bed with me. And that's when I went, 'If you do that again, I'll elbow you in the face'. "So I just feel like I've been used as well, Maisy, because I've been flirting with him." Maisy had earlier been seen defending herself against rumours spreading around the housemates, telling Louise Cliffe: "Don't (more)...

Big Brother evictee Tashie Jackson has claimed to be "offended" by the change she witnessed in ex-housemates Aaron Allard-Morgan and Harry Blake following nominations. The 21-year-old belly dancer was eliminated from the Channel 5 reality show on Friday after receiving fewer public votes to save than the two boys. Speaking to Emma Willis on Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Tashie accused her fellow nominees of putting on an act to win the support of viewers. "It felt hard... seeing them change when the nominations happened," the Oxford-born gymnast explained. "I was offended in a sense, but it was out of my hands. I thought the public will make their decision but that's up to them." Referring to Aaron's attention-grabbing smooch with Tom O'Connell, she added: "I was not prepared to go and kiss a girl as Aaron (more)...

Following last night's Celebrity Big Brother live final, host Brian Dowling introduced a new batch of regular housemates competing to win £100,000 prize money. First to enter was 28-year-old sales assistant Mark Henderson, a self-described "modern day jester" who received the biggest cheers of the night from the live audience. Next in was 19-year-old Abercrombie & Fitch model Maisy James, who entered to heavy boos, followed by 30-year-old father of one Aaron Allard-Morgan.
