Wednesday night’s Survivor: Game Changers premiere featured a physically intense — and scary! — snake challenge that required contestants to have a lot of upper body strength to complete.
People Now‘s own Andrea Boehlke was among the contestants having to complete the season’s first challenge, and now she’s breaking down how to get the strong arms, shoulders and back needed to lift a 400-lb. snake along with Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian trainer Latreal Mitchell.
“We’re talking about lifting heavy snakes,” says Mitchell. “Thinking about that in my mind, what we do we need to do?...

Tonight’s host is Russell Crowe, an Oscar-winning actor known for his performances in movies such as Gladiator, L.A. Confidential, and pretty much nothing comedic ever-- until next month’s The Nice Guys comes out. This is his first time hosting; let’s see how it went! Cold Open: Hillary Clinton delivers a message encouraging New Yorkers to get out and vote for her in their upcoming primary election. It felt refreshing to see Kate McKinnon’s face up there at the start of the night rather than anything involving the Republican race, which even in comedy sketch form is mostly just depressing these days; you can only laugh at a person’s spray tan so many times before remembering he could usher our nation into its Young Adult Dystopian Novel era. Plus, the show hasn’t quite figured out what angle to take with the Republican side of...

The shows that ushered in the current wave of competition reality series on broadcast TV, CBS’ Survivor and Fox’s American Idol, went head-to-head with their finales for the first time last night, resulting in a possible photo finish as both series went into overtime. Idol, which aired from 8-10:06 Pm, drew a 2.6 in adults 18-49 and 10.1 million viewers from 8-10 Pm, up 24% from last Wednesday in total viewers and up 15% in total viewers. But from last year’s finale, it was down 28% to mark the reality veteran’s lowest-rated closer. Survivor: Cagayan, which aired from 8-10:13 Pm, averaged a 2.5 from 8-10 Pm. That was down a tenth from last week’s hourlong episode and down two tenths from last spring’s finale, which aired in Survivor closers’ traditional home on Sunday. Both Idol and Survivor will get upward adjustments in the finals, with Idol likely to...

Many years from now, if one is flipping through old television reruns (that is, if we haven’t all converted to a Netflix-run universe) and stumbles upon this episode, they would probably think it was from one of the show’s earlier seasons. However, in this case, it is not a compliment about the episode’s quality. Instead of living up to the series’ premiere years, writer Abraham Higginbottom infantilizes the children a few years and routinely brings up issues with the bickering adults that were brought up much earlier in the show’s run. Although this is a new episode of Modern Family, it feels a lot like a rerun – and a mediocre one, as well.
Although it is still called Modern Family, a more appropriate named for the family sitcom for the past few seasons would be “First World Problems: The Show.” Television critics have made a fuss...

Seriously, this was the best episode of Modern Family in a long time - and that's saying something considering it's such an awesome show.
"The Late Show" really should've been the 100th Modern Family episode, rather than Cameron and his boar-toting sister Pameron fighting over some high school flame who definitely isn't as good looking as Cam remembered. They never are, am I right?
Now I realize that I obviously stole this title from an episode of Friends, and it happens to be a great episode. Modern Family isn't usually compared to Friends in terms of sitcom similarity, but let's face it: storylines are going to be reused time and time again and the episode where nobody is ready is a good one!
Except in this world, Jay is the Ross, and Jay is about 1,000 times cooler than Ross is. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Ross Geller but Jay...

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul were upset in their respective acting categories, but Breaking Bad won the night’s top prize, taking home its first Emmy for Best Drama. It was an unpredictable night in several major categories: In addition to The Newsroom’s Jeff Daniels taking home the trophy for Best Actor in a Drama and Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale winning for Supporting Actor, Veep’s Tony Hale and Nurse Jackie’s Merritt Wever were surprise winners — Wever was so shocked that she practically ran off the stage without delivering an acceptance speech.
