With a career that began in 1990, survived a break-up, Robbie Williams’ solo success, and Jason Orange leaving, it’s safe to say that Take That have done rather well. Writer Tim Firth utilised the band’s music for a jukebox musical which took the Mamma Mia! approach, before its success led to Firth adapting the musical to a film directed by Coky Giedroyc.
The story flashes back to 1993, where five best friends are obsessed with a band called “The Boys” who are not Take That, despite having hits such as Relight My Fire, Pray, and Never Forget. The Masked Singer is back on our screens, turning the nation into at-home detectives as they try to figure out who this year’s celebrity contestants are.
The singing competition series, in which celebrities compete anonymously behind giant anthropomorphic costumes, returned on New Year’s Day, with the first group of contestants all performing.
Among the group was Phoenix, who was shown in their Vt standing within a grand castle and explaining in a posh accent that “I am rather hot, aren’t I?”
“Fire” by Kasabian then played as Phoenix said that they had risen from the ashes and been “born anew” and “reincarnated”.
They also said that they were good with “mysteries” and “following a trail”, while Phoenix was shown inspecting foot prints with a magnifying glass.
Phoenix’s first performance was a jazz version of “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. While performing, they sang with an American accent.

Robbie Williams has opened up about his decision to leave Take That, calling the situation at the time a “burning building” from which he had to escape.
The singer first made his name as one-fifth of the Nineties boyband, alongside Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, and Jason Orange.
After joining the band at age 16 in 1990, Williams quickly became a fan favourite and provided lead vocals for some of Take That’s earliest hits, including “Could It Be Magic?” (1992).
He left the band in July 1995, a decision which sparked much media attention and fan upset. Take That disbanded in February 1996, before reuniting as a quartet, without Williams, in 2005. Williams, meanwhile, went on to become a successful solo artist.
A new programme for BBC Sounds, titled Robbie Williams: My Life Thru a Lens, sees the recording artist taking a retrospective look at his career on the 25th anniversary of his first solo album.

Robbie Williams has opened up about the forthcoming biopic Better Man.
The former Take That singer will star as himself in the film, which is due to be released next year.
Directed by The Greatest Showman’s Michael Gracey, Better Man will also feature fictionalised depictions of his Take That bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange.
According to Williams, a Take That reunion is very much on the cards, but it may depend on how his former bandmates react to the biopic.
Speaking to The Times, he said: “How [the band] receive it will have a lot to do with what happens next. If this film was my life from 2010 to 2022, it would be a love letter to Gary Barlow. But I speak in the film how I thought when I was 16, 17, 18.

Fans of the (now middle-aged) boy band will know that Pray, Shine and Greatest Day are amongst the group’s biggest hits. It seems as if they wrote A Million Love Songs (that’s another one) that have stood the test of time since they formed over three decades ago.
The three remaining members of the band – Robbie Williams and Jason Orange do their own thing – will kick up their trendy trainers on the Majestic Pier to launch the exuberant promo for film Greatest Days, about a Take That -inspired 1990s boy band and the lives of five 16 year old girls who are obsessed with them.

Take That movie musical Greatest Days is set to be the first production for Danny Perkins’ UK producer-distributor Elysian Film Group.
The film, which has been developed with Universal Music Group, is based on UK stage musical The Band which featured songs from the hit UK boy-band, whose members have included Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow. Tim Firth (Kinky Boots) is adapting his stage play. Coky Giedroyc (How To Build A Girl) is attached to direct.
The project is said to have buy-in from Take That and talks are underway for the group to record an original song. Hits set to be included in the film include Patience, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Shine, Relight My Fire and Could It Be Magic.
The film will focus on five 16-year-old schoolgirls from the north-west of England in 1992 who are obsessed with a fictional boy band, whose songs are the Take That hits.

It's spring, which means the days are getting longer, the trees are beginning to blossom, and all sorts of rumours have started to fly around about The X Factor's lineup.
Below we give you the 2015 Digital Spy X Factor Judges' Ladder, where we rank all their hopefuls on their chances of making it behind that table come the summer.
1. Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell is as close to a 100% confirmed as can be.
An ever-present from 2004 to 2010, Si took some time out to concentrate on the Us show, but came crawling back last year.
His return didn't push the show above Strictly in the ratings, but having signed a three-year deal in 2013, Cowell will likely stick around to try and knock his rivals off their perch.
2. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini
At one point the idea of Cheryl back on The X Factor seemed less likely than Christopher Eccleston back on Doctor Who...

London, Nov 20: Singer Gary Barlow has announced that "Face to face", his duet with singer Elton John, will be the second single from "Since I Saw You Last" album but has not shared any details.
Barlow, also a member of "Take That" band, hasn't even shared the new song with his group, which also consists of Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams, reports mirror.co.uk.
"Usually, I would send the guys something to listen to, but I haven't on this occasion. I haven't really let anyone hear it. I know they've heard the first single, but they haven't heard the album. They all love the single, and they really.

Many a musical atrocity has been committed in the name of charity. Take, for example, this Simon Cowell-masterminded cover of Everybody Hurts, on which music world A-listers Jason Orange, Susan Boyle, Joe McElderry and Westlife butchered the Rem song to raise money for victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
And then there was the 2004 version of Do They Know It's Christmas?, raising funds for Darfur by getting contemporary pop stars to do a weak approximation of the 1984 original, before tacking on a wildly misjudged rap from Dizzee Rascal just to make sure the whole endeavour was as awful as it could possibly be.

Elizabeth Hurley's romance with cricketer Shane Warne is the shakiest in showbiz, according to a leading U.K. bookmaker who is predicting the odd couple will be the first to split in 2012.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand previously topped the break-ups list for William Hill experts, who slashed the odds on their love split in 2012 from 6/5 to 10/11 - but the British funnyman filed for divorce on Friday, thus ending that bet.
And now actress Hurley and her sportsman fiance are the showbiz couple next likely to part ways with odds of 4/1, according to William Hill bookmakers.
Take That star Jason Orange is 8/1 on to part from comedienne Catherine Tate, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - along with parents-to-be Beyonce and Jay-z - are at 25/1 to join the broken homes club.
But Prince William and his new bride Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have a rock solid romance - William Hill bosses are offering odds of 100/1 on them splitting and just 2/5 on them announcing the first celebrity pregnancy of 2012.
In other predictions by the bookies, Lindsay Lohan is 11/10 favourite to be the first star arrested in the New Year, followed by British rock wildman Pete Doherty at 5/2, troubled Courtney Love at 4/1, George Michael at 6/1, and Charlie Sheen at 8/1.

Welsh actor Michael Sheen has won rave reviews for his performance in Hamlet despite a technical glitch which left the star-studded opening night audience waiting for 45 minutes.
The Frost/Nixon star appears in the lead role of the Shakespearean tragedy in a new production at London's Young Vic theatre and the show was officially launched this week (begs07Nov11).
Stars including actress Kristen Scott Thomas, supermodel Lily Cole, Take That singer Jason Orange and Sheen's girlfriend Rachel McAdams were in the audience for opening night, but 10 minutes after the curtain went up, the play was abandoned due to a lighting fault.
Producers ushered the audience into a theatre bar and offered them a drink of wine while the problem was fixed and the play eventually went ahead 45 minutes behind schedule.
A representative for the theatre says in a statement, "Michael was supposed to enter in a blackout. The lights didn't go out because of the technical issues we had, so that's why Michael didn't go on. Second time around, the scene was performed exactly as it should be."
However, the glitch didn't affect critics' reviews of Sheen's performance, which was labelled "fascinating", "intelligent" and "inventive" by The Guardian's Michael Billington.
The Daily Telegraph's Charles Spencer claims Sheen "could be right up there among the great Hamlets", while Paul Taylor of The Independent writes, "Sheen has just the right electrically dangerous, mocking intelligence for the part. He swings from an initial edgy concessiveness at court to an extraordinary manic high."
The celebrities in the audience were also impressed by Sheen's performance, with Scott Thomas gushing, "I'm quite overwhelmed. I feel like I've been through the mill. It is a descent into madness which is your nightmare," and pop star Orange adds, "It was brilliant."...

London, Oct 22: Robbie Williams has quit Take That for a second time to join Universal for his solo career, a little over a year after the band reunited.
The singer - who also ended his relationship with struggling record label Emi - has seen his popularity soar since he re-joined Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Mark Owen.
As a reformed five-piece, the boyband recorded a new album and went on a sell-out European tour.
