- He was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on December 23, 1985 and Invested on April 09, 1986 from the Canadian Governor General. He lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since first winning the Canadian Junior Figure Skating Championship at the age of nine, he has gone on to win five Canadian Men's Singles Championships. In 1984 his excellence as a free skater resulted in his winning both the World Championship and a silver medal at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics.
