Played important roles in two famous prison films: Tommy Riley in White Heat (strangely uncredited given his importance) opposite James Cagney and Edmond O'Brien, and The Colonel from Riot in Cell Block 11... He also played a hit-man hired by his White Heat co-star O'Brien in 777 Ocean Drive, and a grouchy used car lot owner (as shown in his profile pic) in another crime-noir, Hot Cars. Later, before retiring in 1972, he turned up as one of the ironically businesslike Satan-worshipers (Mr. Fountain) in Rosemary's Baby.
