- The once celebrated star fell completely into oblivion in the last years of her life. She died totally impoverished in Prague.
- Known as the " German Mary Pickford."
- Extrovert German leading lady, singer and dancer of the silent screen. Trained as a ballerina and discovered for films in 1916. Set up her own production company in 1921. Under contract to Ufa from 1925. Her career declined after the arrival of sound. Died in abject poverty and relative obscurity in Prague in January 1948 at the age of just 48.
- In sound movies she only appeared two times, in the movies "Der keusche Josef" (1930) and "Der Stern von Valencia" (1933).
- She wrote in 1943 the story for the Czechoslovakian film Ctrnáctý u stolu.
- When the National Socialists seized the power in Germany she emigrated to Prague together with her life partner the Jew Julius Aubenberg.
- After dancing lessons as a prima ballerina she came to the Berliner theater as a choir dancer. There she was spotted by Hanns Kräly who recommended her to Ernst Lubitsch.
- After many years she appeared again in the 30's on stages for the first time, among others in "Der Graf von Luxemburg.
- Between 1916 and 1919 she normally worked for Ernst Lubitsch, but there were also other directors who knew how to put on her talent.
- The rise of the sound film meant the end of her film career.
