Ryan Reynolds knew just how to celebrate the birthday of his Wrexham AFC co-owner, Rob McElhenney: teach the world how to pronounce his last name. In fact, he drummed up a whole song and music video for the occasion, which you can watch below now.
The two-minute song is available to stream on various platforms and features the Wrexam Celtic Chorus as well as McElhenney’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-stars Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day and Kaitlin Olson. McElhenney is also well known for creating and starring in Apple TV+’s “Mythic Quest.”

“A birthday card might’ve been easier,” Reynolds admitted in the video’s caption on Twitter. “Happy birthday, @rmcelhenney.”
He additionally teased in follow-up tweet that it “would be a real shame if this became a @wrexham_afc Racecourse chant.

Wheel of Fortune is a show usually known for being a stickler for the rules, but viewers noticed a gaffe on Thursday’s episode that slipped by host Pat Sajak. The minor error came during the final regulation puzzle when contestant Steven Page solved the puzzle “Quality Craftsmanship.” However, fans at home were quick to point out that Page missed out an “s” in his pronunciation, instead saying “craftmanship,” making his answer technically incorrect. “The man on Wheel of Fortune today shouldn’t have won. The last puzzle he said, “Quality craftmanship. He missed the “s” is craftsmanship. You can hear it if you listen closely. He should have gotten the buzz and the lady beside him should have gotten it,” tweeted one fan. The man on Wheel of Fortune today shouldn’t have won. The last puzzle he said, “Quality craftmanship. Deadpool‘s Ryan Reynolds has taken to Twitter to compel others to stay home and work together in the midst of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, but it wouldn’t be Reynolds without some sarcasm layered in, too.
The popular Canadian actor joins a growing list of celebrities to post about the coronavirus spreading and ways for citizens to combat it through self-isolation and cleanliness, a fact that he pokes fun at during his speech. After stating that everyone needs to work in unison to flatten the curve, Reynolds goes on to offer a quip about how it’s celebrities that play the most important role in times of crisis, saying:
I think, in time of crisis, I think we all know it’s the celebrities that we count on most. They’re the ones who are gonna get us through this. Right after healthcare workers, of course, first responders, people who work in essential services,...

Fun fact -- The Barenaked Ladies wrote the theme song for "The Big Bang Theory". Not so fun fact -- a former member of Tbl says he hasn't received a dime for the work ... even though its TV's #1 comedy. According to legal docs, former front man Steven Page claims he was promised 20% of all proceeds from the song. He says band member Ed Robertson is the only one collecting and has kept all the money for himself.

Barenaked Ladies are incredibly talented and kind of uncool. That's the basic view that's dogged this Canadian pop group throughout its 25 years in the business. A collection of jokers with a silly band name that few "serious music fans" pay much attention to. Bnl are good, goes this refrain, but I hope they don't come up on shuffle when my buddies are in the car.
As if they care. This is the real story of the Barenaked Ladies: a quarter-century on the charts, sold-out concerts around the world, a lengthy list of hits, a legion of devoted fans and an endorsement from Paul McCartney himself. Who's cool now?
When founding member and co-front man Steven Page quit the band four years ago, it had looked like curtains for the Toronto-based quintet. But they surprised many people by staying together, picking themselves back up, and recording 2010's "All In Good Time.

[Spoiler Alert for those who have yet to see tonight's episode of How I Met Your Mother]
“I’m so happy right now!” Lily declared towards the end of the episode, and who could blame her? She – as well as viewers – got to witness the fourth (and last?) Robin Sparkles single, “P.S. I Love You,” which featured a suddenly edgy Sparkles singing about a guy she may or may not have been stalking (Rewatch the amazing clip here!) But this episode of How I Met Your Mother showed that obsession can happen to the best of us when romantic gestures can so easily be misconstrued as something either cute or scary, depending on how charmed the recipient is.

P.S. I Love You takes the Canada-extravaganza of How I Met Your Mother to a whole new level. The show consistently makes Canada jokes and references, so I didn’t think we’d see an episode where the usual Canadian humor would be put to shame, but tonight definitely did just that.
The episode features jokes about Tim Horton’s and donuts throughout, constant references to the politeness of the residents of the great white north, and even appearances by basically every Canadian star of the 90s imaginable. I mean we had K.D. Lang, Jason Priestley, Alex Trebek, Paul Shaffer, Steven Page, Luc Robitaille, Geddy Lee, and Dave Coulier. Who more could you want?
The catalyst to the Canadian onslaught is a discussion about stalkers, and whether someone has to be a total nut to become obsessed. Ted likes to reference the Dobler/Dahmer Theory, which says that whether a...

A number of Canadian musicians have joined forces to show their support for Idle No More, the movement of First Nations people for "healthy, just, equitable and sustainable communities."
According to the CBC, Feist, Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, Blue Rodeo, former Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page and The Tragically Hip's Gord Downie have signed a petition backing the movement. The petition was started by Weakerthans' singer John K. Samson just before Christmas (Dec. 21) and originally sent it through various contacts.
"The response was immediate and huge, from artists of all disciplines, genres and mediums," Samson said, adding he got the idea after a conversation with his friend and writer Leanne Simpson, a member of the Alderville First Nation. Oh Canada, you shouldn't have!
The Feb. 4 episode of "How I Met Your Mother" will feature a whole host of Canadian guest stars -- Alan Thicke, Alex Trebek and k.d. lang are only a few. Honestly, it's almost like the whole population of Canada is turning out to honor Robin Sparkles! And we have the video to prove it.
Most of the time, when networks have a casting announcement to make, they just send out a press release or tell some reporter the name. Not this time. Instead, CBS has created a video -- set to the Canadian national anthem, of course -- to tell us about the rather impressive list of Canadian talent coming to "How I Met Your Mother" in February.
Why are they coming? CBS hasn't given that away yet, but the answer definitely has something to do with the return of Robin Sparkles, the alter-ego...

Barenaked Ladies are joining the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Pearl Jam and Motorhead with their own brand of booze entitled "Strong Beer."
The Toronto Star reports the band has joined forces with The Flying Monkeys, craft brewers from Barrie, Ontario, to created the "chocolate-flavoured, strong imperial stout." According to a press release on the band's site, the beer's release will coincide with their "Symphony Barenaked" cross-Canada tour which starts in Vancouver Nov. 30.
Flying Monkeys boss Peter Chiodo -- who said the band were "totally involved in the birth of this beer" -- told the publication he came up with the idea after drinking some of the Pearl Jam beer called Faithfull Ale.
"I thought it would be a lot cooler if there was something where the band actually came into the brewery and helped make it," he said. "It would have more meaning that way."

Welcome back to a fresh round of Reports. I personally am hoping for at least one more smackdown on the line of Friday’s brilliant hit at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. After all, isn’t that what Thomas deserves for watching The Daily Show when Stephen’s trying to interview him? Seriously, I thought it was a fine example of how Mr. Colbert can impart important information with his humor—namely the fact that the bench-warming Thomas, alone of all Supreme Court Justices, has said nothing at all in the past five years. People who haven’t realized exactly how incompetent and impotent a judge Thomas is, now will…and enjoy a laugh, too.
This week brings us three out of four guests who have appeared on the ‘Colbert Report’ before, including one real friend of the show whose politics aren’t to my taste, but who I must admit makes a fun interview.

He spoke with medical specialists in the field and interviewed well-known people who suffer from mental illness such as author Robert Munch, comedian Mike McDonald and author Mark Vonnegut (son of writer Kurt Vonnegut Jr).

Apparently the wait was worth it. After several delays, Usher's Raymond v. Raymond finally made it into stores last week, paving the way for a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The disc, which sold more than 329,000 copies, is the R&B singer's third #1 debut in a row, and it knocks last week's top dog, protégé Justin Bieber's My World 2.0, down a notch to #2. The Bieb has nothing to worry about, though, since, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, his second album in four months sold another 291,000 copies, putting him near the 600,000 mark in just two weeks.
The relentless hype over her slow striptease in the "Window Seat" video clearly helped soul sister Erykah Badu, as her New Amerykah Part Two:

Barenaked Ladies' engaging blend of music and comedy is coming to television. Fox Broadcasting Co. has ordered a pilot presentation for a comedy/variety show starring the members of the popular Canadian pop group, known for its playful music style of tongue-in-cheek humor, pop culture lyrics and upbeat tempos. The project, tentatively titled The Barenaked Ladies Variety Show, is set to expand upon the comedy sketches that have become a staple of Barenaked Ladies' concerts along with the quintet's humorous stage banter and improv bits with the audience. The five band members -- Steven Page, Kevin Hearn, Tyler Stewart, Jim Creeggan and Ed Robertson -- will star in the skits as exaggerated versions of themselves, joined by guest actors. The show, in which all elements will be connected by a story line running through each episode, also will include musical performances by the group as well as musical guests.
