In 1918 she came out of retirement to play Mrs. Jordan in the Broadway production of "Lightnin". A role she performed continuously 1,291 times.
One of the first American actresses to be favorably received in England.
Probably best remembered on both sides of the Atlantic for her portrayal of Tina in the play "My Sweetheart".
Made her stage debut on 8 June, 1874 in "Le Pavillon Rouge" at the Park Theater in Brooklyn, New York.
